摘要： An infant environmental transition system and method provides an infant with a controlled, healthy transition from an intrauterine environment to the extrauterine environment, and includes a housing within which the infant is supported by a soft, form-fitting bed. Environment conditions provided within the housing include simulated motions, sounds and tactile sensations resembling the intrauterine environment. A suspension and drive system controls the degree of movement imparted to the housing and to an infant supported therein. The resulting motion closely approximates the motion experienced by the fetus while the mother is walking. The sound profile simulates intrauterine cardiovascular and gastrointestinal sounds. The system simulates day and night variations in motions and sounds, integrates changes to the environment over time toward the natural extrauterine environment, and may respond to infant activity or other imputs at various intervals.

摘要： An incubator for neonatology has a chamber to receive a baby and to maintain it under aerated and heat-controlled conditions; the chamber is enclosed by a bottom shell and a transparent topy casing; heating and aerating means as well as an air distribution system are provided; passage of heat-controlled air through the chamber is optimized by a pair of superimposed horizontal trays that define two air-conducting spaces, one between the lower tray and the bottom shell and the other between the lower and the upper tray; the upper tray includes an insert that supports the baby; the lower tray is about as long as the chamber; the upper tray is shorter but less wide than the chamber; longitudinal air-passing gaps are formed between the lower tray and the bottom shell and communicate with the lower air-conducting space; transverse air-passing gaps are formed between adjacent end walls of the trays and communicate with the upper air-conducting space.The suction side of a blower is connected with one of the air-conducting spaces while the blowing side is connected with the other. When the blower is operated, two pairs of air curtains are formed, one pair by the two transverse gaps and the other pair by the two longitudinal gaps. One curtain pair is up-current, the other is down-current for passing heated air smoothly and draft-free through the chamber.The two interfitting trays provide a novel and effective air distribution system for incubators and similar devices, yet can be removed and reassembled easily for thorough disinfection between changes of patients.

摘要： This invention relates generally to an incubator and more particularly to a comprehensive infant care system comprising an environmental chamber for the infant which chamber has a base and a transparent dome adapted to fit over the base. Means are provided for moving the dome relative to the base between a closed position in engagement with the base and a predetermined open limit position and for holding the dome at various positions between the open limit and closed positions. The chamber, including the dome and base, as well as the dome-moving means is mounted on a supporting structure and there is included means for tilting the entire chamber to a selected tilt position. The system further comprises a chassis portion within the supporting structure having internally wired compartments, modular electronic units adapted to plug into the compartments, and means for electrically connecting the modular units to the chassis wiring upon plugging the units into the compartments. Means are also provided for supplying infrared heat to the chamber.

摘要： A thermotherapy device for treatment of neonates has a bordered lying surface (5) for receiving a neonate, a vertical support column (8) arranged adjacent to the head end of the lying surface (5) and radiant heaters (3, 4), supported by the column, directed at the lying surface (5). A control unit controls the heating output of each of the radiant heaters (3, 4). At least one first radiant heater (4) is directed at a head end half of the lying surface (5). At least one second radiant heater (3) is directed at the other half of the lying surface. The control unit (9) adjusts the heating output of the first radiant heater and the second radiant heater in such that, with the lying surface (5) arranged horizontally, the heating output of the second radiant heater (3) is greater by a predefined factor than that of the first radiant heater (4).

摘要： A heat therapy appliance for treatment of neonates has a lying surface on a platform bordered by side walls, a hood movable between a closed incubator position, bearing on the side walls and covering the lying surface, and an open nursing care position, a radiant heater secured on the appliance structure and directed at the lying surface, lifting devices acting on the platform, and a control device actuating the lifting devices to adjustably set an angle of inclination of the platform with respect to the horizontal. The platform is mounted so as to be adjustable in height. The control device also actuates the lifting devices in the same direction, to adjust the vertical position of the platform with respect to the side walls between a first position and a second position higher than the first position.
