摘要： An article of footwear may have an upper and a sole structure secured to the upper. The upper includes a base layer, a plurality of strand segments, and a deposition layer. The base layer has a first surface and an opposite second surface. The strand segments are located adjacent to the first surface and extend substantially parallel to the first surface for a distance of at least five centimeters. The deposition layer is deposited upon the first surface and the strand segments, and the deposition layer is joined with the first surface and the strand segments. The deposition layer is applied using a screen printing process. Different inks can be used during the screen printing process to form the deposition layer and an indicia layer.

There are first and second thong strap portions that secure to left and right parts of the thong portion of the flip-flop, and an ankle strap portion is affixed to the first and second thong strap portions. The ankle strap passes around the secures to the ankle of the wearer. The thong portions can attach using hook-loop material, snaps closures, or buttons. The ankle strap portion can be formed of two straps that fasten together around the ankle, or can be a loop of an elastic material. Favorably the ankle strap portion can be decorated as an animal such as a mouse, cat, bear, etc., or can hold a watch. The thong strap portions can be joined together to help secure a high heel shoe or slipper.

摘要： Heat press platens for a shoe customization/decoration system and a method of using the same are disclosed. The platens may be quickly interchanged to allow the same equipment to be used to dye shoes of different sizes. The platens individually accommodate a pair of assembled shoes and are shaped to: reduce print sizes, maintain symmetry and flatness of the shoe, and accommodate a range of shoe sizes. The size and shape of the platens enable one shoe to be fitted on one side of a platen and another shoe to be fitted on the opposite side. The platens position the shoes so that they are mirror images of each other. This positioning allows a single print, including mirror images of the same design, to be applied to two shoes at the same time.
