    • A duplex printer (or copier) 10 has a copy sheet output path 92 through output rollers 84, curved chute 96, and output rollers 67 into output tray 86. Commonly utilizing a substantial portion thereof is a duplexing path 94 for returning copy sheets to be imaged on their opposite sides to make duplex copies. Rollers 67 alternatively, with reversal, feeds copy sheets into the duplex path 94, aided by rollers 84 at the path separation. The distance between output rollers 84 and the reversible ejecting rollers 67 along the chute 96 is substantial, preferably approximately one half the sheet dimension in the sheet feeding direction of the shortest sheet to be duplexed. The rollers 84 feed copy sheets through the copy sheet output path 92 to the reversible rollers 67 until about one half of the sheet extends out of their nip of these rollers 67. A reversed sheet can then be uninterruptedly reverse fed by, outside, of another sheet moving in the opposite direction in the same arcuate chute 96, for a substantial time period. Thus, a subsequent copy sheet may be fed downstream (upwardly) in the output path 92 simultaneously with, for a substantial time period, the reverse (downward) feeding of the preceding copy sheet into the duplex path 94, to enable slow, uncritical, reversals of rollers 67 even if the sheets are closely spaced in the output path. The duplex path 94 has an even greater path distance between the reversible rollers 67 and the first duplex path feed nip 90, which is separate from the rollers 84.

    • Apparatus for sorting sheets wherein the individual bins in the sorter are supported in the frame member in cantilevered fashion about only one edge and are open and unsupported in any other position. Each bin has plural means to movably support the bin in the frame comprising at least two support members slidingly engagable with the frame and sufficiently vertically spaced apart to prevent equilibrium when a coefficient of friction between the support means and the frame is at least 0.3 and a friction force between the support means and the frame is less than the weight of the bin, and further including a C-cam to sequentially vertically move said bins in the frame past a sheet entrance position.

    • Automatic pre-collation document copying in which the documents are loaded upon, and automatically recirculated by, an elongate windable document holding web. A spaced pair of oppositely wound scrolls of the web wind up documents loaded onto the web, where these documents are retained between the turns of the web on both of the scrolls during the copying operation. The web has a minor intermediate unwound segment extending between the two web scrolls where the documents are intermittently exposed for copying by appropriate optical systems for projecting the document images onto a xerographic drum or belt or other imaging surface. A drive is provided for recirculatingly winding and unwinding the web between one web scroll and the other so as to recirculatingly expose, in sequence, the individual documents on the web as they appear on the unwound intermediate web segment. The documents are thereby exposed in the pre-collated order in which they are loaded onto the web, or/and the reverse to produce correspondingly pre-collated copy sets. A document loading guide is movable into a document loading position adjacent the intermediate segment of the web when one web scroll is repositioned into a document loading position.

    • A system, method, and software (1600) are for moving inventory items (1610) to an unloading station (1640) in response to a fulfillment order. An input device (1620) is used to enter identification information about the inventory items. At a loading station (1615), the inventory items are received and loaded into holders (1605). The holders are then moved to storage area (1630). A controller (1625) is configured for creating and storing a first association between the entered identification information and each of the holders in which each of the inventory items is placed. A selector and transporter (1635) are responsive to the fulfillment order and the first association, and are configured to select a holder which holds the inventory items corresponding to the fulfillment order, and configured to transport the holder from the storage area to the unloading station (1640).
