    • An improved cardiopulmonary resuscitation device for resuscitating human infants is provided. The device includes a manually compressible and resiliently expandable bag constructed of an elastomer shell that encloses a breathable gas chamber having a volume capacity sufficient to inflate the lungs of a human patient when the bag is fully compressed. The shell includes at least one compressible region constructed of a wall having less resilience than the shell's average resilience. The less resilient region helps prevent over inflation of the patient's lungs. The device further includes a patient interface assembly that is communicable with a breathable gas outlet of the bag breathable gas chamber, and a breathable gas source communicable with an inlet of the bag breathable gas chamber. The device can optionally include a breathable gas manometer to monitor backpressure from the patient's lungs to further insure against over inflating the patient's lungs.

    • The punch stripper invention provides a design compatible with round or shaped punch points and flat, angular or irregular shaped surfaces to be punched. Using a bronze stripper insert machinable to suit the punch point shape and also three-dimensionally machinable to match the surface to be punched. The bronze stripper insert has graphite plugs to lubricate both the punch shank and the inner diameter of the insert sleeve as both components are used in close tolerance to guide the bronze stripper insert. An alignment pin is used in the insert sleeve to guide by a slot in the bronze stripper insert for anti-rotation. An elastomeric urethane spring is used for the stripping force required behind the bronze stripper insert, but always compressed in a parallel manor to maximize the life of the urethane. A retention plate is used to mount the stripper arrangement to a standard ball lock punch retainer with one or two screw style retention plates depending on clearance requirements.

    • In trains a dragging air hose can snag an object on the tracks and break. A broken air hose can lead to an emergency stop or an accident caused by faulty brakes. The present invention mounts a video camera opposite a lit screen, thereby contrasting the air hose profile against a white screen in all weather and lighting conditions. Machine vision algorithms locate the air hose in a captured image from a moving train, and compute its lowest point. An alarm condition is sent to a remote location. An optional car gap detector is laser based. It helps align the car gap with the data capture for the camera. Another subsystem can include a car coupler height detection algorithm.

    • Techniques, systems, and computer program products that facilitate image printing. A technique may include receiving an image to be printed, using a first software component to selectively pre-process the image depending on a format of the image, and using a second software component to generate image queues from the pre-processed image. In that technique, each image queue includes at least one portion of image data associated with an association of print elements that corresponds to a configuration of print elements at a printing device. The technique may be implemented in a scalable system, by having multiple first software components and multiple second software components, where each of the first and/or second components can reside on a separate computer system.
