摘要： A logically centralized system or service, such as a cloud-based content management service, enables intelligent communication between disparate devices. Such communication enables content such as applications and data to be synchronized between various devices, where the synchronization takes into account the capabilities of each device to provide versions and/or formats of that content that are appropriate for each device. A user purchasing an additional device, for example, can have various applications and other content automatically installed or copied over to the additional device, but with versions or formats that take advantage of, and are appropriate for, the capabilities of that additional device. Further, the intelligent communication via a logically centralized service can enable such devices to interact even though those devices might utilize different protocols and/or formats, and might otherwise not be able to communicate or have ever have been tested together.

Inventory can be reported as unavailable based at least upon an initial quantity of the product, the inventory depletion rate, and whether the period of uncertain inventory availability is entered.

摘要： Techniques are described for managing distributed execution of programs. In at least some situations, the techniques include decomposing or otherwise separating the execution of a program into multiple distinct execution jobs that may each be executed on a distinct computing node, such as in a parallel manner with each execution job using a distinct subset of input data for the program. In addition, the techniques may include temporarily terminating and later resuming execution of at least some execution jobs, such as by persistently storing an intermediate state of the partial execution of an execution job, and later retrieving and using the stored intermediate state to resume execution of the execution job from the intermediate state. Furthermore, the techniques may be used in conjunction with a distributed program execution service that executes multiple programs on behalf of multiple customers or other users of the service.

摘要： Intelligent content delivery enables content to be delivered to different devices in formats appropriate for those devices based on the capabilities of those devices. A user might access the same piece of content on two different devices, and can automatically receive a higher quality format on a device capable of playing that higher quality format. The user can purchase rights to content in any format, such that as new formats emerge or the user upgrades to devices with enhanced capabilities, the user can receive the improved formats automatically without having to repurchase the content. Further, the user can pause and resume content between devices even when those devices utilize different formats, and can access content on devices not otherwise associated with the user, receiving content in formats that are appropriate for those unknown devices even if the user has not previously accessed content in those formats.

摘要： Mechanisms in which upon receiving a message, the message is passed through one or more receiving path components that are positioned in the receiving path of the message prior to being passed to a dispatching component. One or more of the receiving path components may modify the message to include information that may be helpful to the dispatching component in order to perform the dispatch. The dispatching component receives modified message, and uses information from the modified message (including potentially the modification itself) to perform the dispatch. Since the message is modified to include additional information helpful to the dispatching component, the dispatching component may be more flexible in identifying the processing that should occur with the message. Accordingly, specialized and flexible processing may be enabled that is ideally suited for the message.

The code generation computing system uses a message exchange pattern definition to generate the simulation code. For each state in which the message exchange pattern definition allows valid messages to be received, code is generated for that state that simulates the receipt of a valid receipt message. If the transmission or receipt of the message causes a state transition to occur, code is generated that causes the appropriate state transition in the message exchange pattern.
