摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member and a charge member contacted to the image bearing member for electrically charging the image bearing member. An oscillating voltage including an AC voltage component is applied to the charge member. A first detector detects an AC current applied to the charge member and a second detector detects the AC current corresponding to a peak or a neighborhood of the peak of the AC voltage. A controller effects control such that current detected by the second detector is a predetermined level when the current detected by the first detector is within a predetermined range, and such that current detected by the first detector is a predetermined level when the current detected by the first detector is outside the predetermined range.

摘要： A recording apparatus for recording an image sensed by a photosensor comprises an inlet for accepting a liquid to be delivered to an outlet orifice through a liquid flow path. Liquid is supplied to the inlet for flow through the liquid flow path to a heating element, which heats liquid in the liquid flow path in response to signals received by the photosensor. Heating is sufficient to cause a change of state of the liquid (that is, to generate a bubble) and produce a force acting on the liquid which overcomes the surface tension of liquid at the orifice and thereby projects a droplet of liquid from the orifice. The temperature of the heating element is raised at each actuation to a temperature above the maximum temperature at which the liquid in the liquid flow path is subjected only to nucleate boiling so as to promote substantially instantaneous transfer of heat to the liquid proximate to the heating element and to retard the transfer of heat from the heating element to liquid at other locations in the liquid flow path.

A printing system has at least two recording units. Upon a signal scanning operation, the printing system is capable of printing a plurality of copies at high speed and with good quality. A change in size of the original does not result in a problem since the apparatus is capable of feeding a recording paper sheet of corresponding size or printing only for a desired length.

A number of copies can be produced simultaneously by the recording units within a period of time shorter than a period of time required for sequentially recording the same number of copies. Dichromatic or polychromatic recording may be freely selected or combined with monochromatic recording by selecting feed paths and an auxiliary path for guiding the recording paper sheet.
