摘要： The present teachings provide a fusing method and system of tuning gloss level on a copy substrate. The method includes obtaining an image forming apparatus for forming images on a recording medium including a charge-retentive surface to receive an electrostatic latent image thereon. The method includes applying toner to the charge-retentive surface to develop an electrostatic latent image to form a developed image on the charge-retentive surface. The developed image is transferred from the charge retentive surface to a copy substrate. The toner images are fused to a surface of the copy substrate. The gloss is adjusted on the copy substrate by providing a fuser member having a surface layer a fluoroplastic matrix having dispersed therein aerogel particles wherein the greater a weight percent of the aerogel particles in the fluoroplastic matrix the lower the gloss.

In embodiments, alkyl or alkyl ether sulfates are used in a solvent-free toner production process as surfactants to provide for higher parent particle charge without adversely affecting particle size, distribution control and circularity of the toner particles. The present disclosure also provides a new formulation and process for the emulsification of polyester resins to form nano-scale particles dispersed in water (latex) without the use of organic solvents by an extrusion process.

摘要： The toner described herein contains toner particles containing polymer, colorant and cross-linked polymer. The cross-linked polymer is incorporated at least in the shell of the toner particles. Incorporating cross-linked polymer in the shell of the toner particles provide bumps in the surface of the toner particles. These bumps can behave as spacers. Such toner can be formed by aggregating at least polymer particles and colorant particles to form core particles; aggregating at least cross-linked polymer particles to the surface of the core particles; and coalescing the resulting particles to form toner particles.
