    • An electronic device includes a storage unit, a touch input unit, a display unit, and a processor. The storage unit is used for storing decryption passwords. The touch input unit is configured to select a file for encryption/decryption, and to generate corresponding handwriting input signals in response to the handwritten signature of a user on the touch input unit. The processor includes a detecting module, a feature extracting module, and an encryption and decryption module. The detecting module detects the coordinates of the handwriting of the user's signature. The feature extracting module extracts the feature of the user's signature according to the detected coordinates, and stores the extracted feature of the user's signature. The encryption and decryption module uses the features of the user's signature as a password to encrypt or decrypt the selected file. An encryption method and a decryption method are also provided.

The processor includes a page flipping module, a storage module, an image processing module, a format conversion module, and a control module. The page flipping module detects a page flipping gesture. The storage module stores content of the handwritten note in the storage unit if the page flipping gesture is detected. The image processing module detects and recognizes touch input of a handwritten signature. The format conversion module combines the handwritten note and the handwritten signature into a file and converts the file into a predetermined format. The control module controls transmitting the converted file to an electronic device.

    • A method for verifying signatures includes the following steps. Generate corresponding input signals in response to user's operation for inputting a signature on an electronic device. Then detect coordinates of the handwriting of the user's signature. Extract the feature of the user's signature according to the detected coordinates. Generate a user identifier according to the extracted feature of the user's signature, and transmit the extracted feature of the user's signature and the generated user identifier to a server. Retrieve the feature of signature corresponding to the user identifier recording in the storage unit. And finally, compare the retrieved feature of signature with the received feature of the user's signature transmitted from the electronic device, to verify whether they are the same; and transmit the verified result to the electronic device. An electronic device and a signature verifying system are also provided.
