    • An image copying device and an image copying system are arranged to read an image of a document and to acquire copyright information on each area regarding the image of the document from an IC chip embedded in the document. Then, based on the read image data and the acquired copyright information, a selection screen is displayed on a manipulation/display panel. Copyright information on each area of the image of the document is schematically represented on the selection screen. Whether or not copying is performed is selected area by area by manipulation by a user on this screen. For areas for which “copying” is selected is copied, but areas for which “nocopying” has been selected is not copied. Further, a copyright fee pertaining to the copied areas is collected. Thus, the image copying device and an image copying system enable the user to select appropriate processing according to differences in copyright information from one area to another of the image and cause images to be formed.

    • A method and an apparatus for measuring insulation resistance capable of removing the influences of piezoelectric noise which is occurring due to mechanical vibrations applied to an electronic component to measure the insulation resistance of the electronic component with high accuracy. In order to do so, a predetermined measured voltage is applied to the electronic component arranged in a position subjected to periodic mechanical vibrations from the outside to measure a current flowing through the electronic component. Then, the value of the measured current flowing through the electronic component is integrated over the period of the mechanical vibrations or over a time which is an integral multiple thereof. With this arrangement, a piezoelectric noise current can be cancelled and only a leakage current to be primarily measured can be extracted. Thus, by calculating the value of the insulation resistance from the value of the current, the insulation resistance can be detected with high accuracy.

    • In a developing apparatus of the present invention, a voltage applying circuit applies a developing bias voltage obtained by superimposing a DC component on an AC component to the developer carrying member. A bias voltage controller controls the voltage of the DC component based on at least one of a voltage range between the highest and lowest voltages of a waveform of the developing bias voltage and the ratio of time during which the waveform has a value higher or lower than a reference voltage to one period of the AC component. The reference voltage is set so that an area occupied by a portion of the waveform of the developing bias voltage in which the developing bias voltage has a value higher than the reference voltage is equal to an area occupied by a portion of the waveform in which the developing bias voltage has a value lower than the reference voltage.

    • An optometric apparatus includes an operating table and a vision test chart displaying device provided internally within the operating table. An optical group, including a plurality of reflection-type optical elements, are disposed within the operating table. The optical group repeatedly reflects an optical image of the vision test chart projected from the vision test chart displaying device along an optical path within said operating table. A first deflecting optical element reflects the optical image of the vision test chart reflected by the reflection-type optical element group outside the operating table in a first direction. A second deflecting optical element then reflects the optical image of the vision test chart reflected by the first deflecting optical element in a second direction toward the examinee's eyes. A line of vision of the examinee in looking at the optical image reflected by the second deflecting optical element obliquely intersects a plane passing through the optical path defined by the optical group.
