    • A magnetoresistive element is located between a lower shielding layer and an upper shielding layer. The magnetoresistive element receives an electric current through the lower shielding layer and the upper shielding layer. A non-magnetic conductive layer is embedded in the insulating film between the slider body and the lower shielding layer. An air layer is formed between the head slider and a storage medium. Capacitive coupling is established between the head slider and the storage medium. The capacitive coupling allows transmission of the noise from the storage medium to the slider body. The noise affects capacitance established between the lower shielding layer and the slider body. The non-magnetic conductive layer serves to prevent variation in a potential difference resulting from transmission of the noise between the lower shielding layer and the upper shielding layer.

    • One of brake pads 5 is pressed against the disc rotor D by a piston of a caliper 3 which is floatably supported on the carrier 2, and in reaction thereto, the other brake pad 5 is pressed against the disc rotor D by a claw portion 14 on the caliper 3, thereby producing a braking force. During brake release, the spring force of a return spring 22 separates the brake pad 5 from the disc rotor D. A positioning convex portion 27 is provided on the carrier 2 in a standing position adjacent to the return spring 22, and serves to restrict the sideward movement of the distal end portion of the return spring 22. Thus displacement and deformation of the return spring can be prevented, and its functions can be maintained.

    • In an image forming apparatus, a rotating body has a follower member that is arranged to confront a drive member in an axial direction of the drive member. A drive transmitting member transmits drive force from the drive member to the follower member by coupling the drive member and the follower member with each other, while allowing relative positional deviation between the drive member and the follower member on a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the drive member within a prescribed range. The drive member and the follower member have a drive-member side contact part and a follower-member side contact part, respectively. A making-contact member brings the drive-member side contact part and the follower-member side contact part into contact with each other.
