    • An arrangement of semiconductor devices to monitor semiconductor defects. There is a first semiconductor device arranged in proximity to a second semiconductor device, the second semiconductor device having a plurality of temperature sensing devices at locations in the second semiconductor device; a plurality of through silicon vias extending between the first semiconductor device and the second semiconductor device to electrically connect the first semiconductor device to the second semiconductor device; and a testing program to cause the plurality of temperature sensing devices in the second semiconductor device to sense the temperature at a plurality of corresponding locations in the first semiconductor device such that a predetermined rise in temperature at one location of the plurality of temperature sensing devices in the second semiconductor device is indicative of a defect in the corresponding location in the first semiconductor device. Methods of monitoring defects are also disclosed.

    • Processing events in a distributed environment. There is provided an apparatus which includes a central queue for receiving events and tracking their progress through filtering, correlation, and update processing of stateful target objects, at least one filtering node, at least one correlation node and at least one update node. The central queue receives events in their order of arrival, each event having an entry in the central queue. Processing of events is divided into three pipelined stages in the order of filtering, correlating and updating. A result for each event of each of filtering the events, correlating the events and updating the target object is recorded in the central queue as part of the event's queue entry. The method may be performed by one or more computing devices. The exemplary embodiments detect and compensate for any erroneous results due to unsynchronized parallel processing, and guarantee an eventually correct outcome.

    • A dual epitaxial integration process for FinFET devices. First and second pluralities of fins and gates are formed, with some of the fins and gates being for NFETs and some of the fins and gates being for PFETs. A first layer of a hard mask material selected from the group consisting of titanium nitride, tungsten nitride, tantalum nitride, amorphous carbon and titanium carbide is deposited over the NFETs and PFETs. The hard mask material is removed from one of the NFETs and PFETs and a first source and drain material is epitaxially deposited on the fins. A second layer of the hard mask material is deposited over the NFETs and PFETs. The first and second layers of the hard mask material are removed from the other of the NFETs and PFETs and a second source and drain material is deposited on the fins.
