摘要： Paging and power consumption are managed in conjunction with providing local breakout in a wireless wide area network. In some aspects, if a packet destined for an access terminal is received at an access point that provides local breakout, the access point may inform the network so that the network will cause the access point to page the access terminal. Alternatively, in some aspects an access point that provides local breakout may maintain idle context of the access terminal, whereby the access point may autonomously page the access terminal (i.e., without involving the core network). In some aspects local breakout traffic is filtered at an access point to reduce the number of pages or packets sent to an access terminal. In some aspects an indication of a packet type is provided with a page message to enable an access terminal to determine whether to receive the packet. In some aspects a local link interface may be selectively disabled or enabled to limit traffic at an access terminal.

摘要： In a system which performs wireless communication from an access point to stations using group identification information, the frequency of uses of group identification information that overlaps with that of another access point is reduced. An association between a station apparatus included in a group that is a target for simultaneous transmission and group identification information is stored, each station apparatus included in the group is notified of the group identification information, group identification information that is being used in the other access point apparatus is acquired, and if group identification information that is being used by the access point apparatus itself overlaps with the group identification information used by the other access point apparatus, the group identification information is changed so as to reduce the number of pieces of overlapping group identification information.

The present research provides a method and apparatus that can perform a low-power consuming operation when a terminal is in active state in a cellular system. The method for discontinuously transmitting/receiving packet data to reduce power consumption of a terminal in a cellular system, including the steps of: a) establishing discontinuous reception/transmission (DRX/DTX) parameters including discontinuous DRX/DTX cycle information for terminals operating in a transmission suspension mode, which is a sub-state of an active state; and b) performing DRX/DTX based on the DRX/DTX parameters in the terminals operating in the transmission suspension mode.

摘要： A clock generator generates a first clock. A receiver transitions, based on the first clock, from a power save mode to an active mode to receive a DTIM beacon from an access point. The DTIM beacon is transmitted at a DTIM beacon interval based on a second clock of the access point. A beacon sensing module determines a number of times the DTIM beacon is missed by the receiver during a predetermined time period subsequent to the receiver transitioning from the power save mode to the active mode. A transmit module transmits a number of requests to the access point during a given DTIM beacon interval. The number of requests is based on the number of times the DTIM beacon is missed. A synchronization module receives information about the second clock from the access point and synchronizes the first clock to the second clock based on the information.

A contention resolution platform causes, at least in part, scanning of a data channel of a passive endpoint at a first active endpoint to detect a powered state of the passive endpoint. The contention resolution platform then identifies a second active endpoint based, at least in part, on detection of the powered state. The contention resolution platform generates a request to the second active endpoint for the first active endpoint to enter an active mode with respect to the passive endpoint, causing, at least in part, transmission of the request to the second active endpoint. The contention resolution platform then joins the first active endpoint to one or more powered periods of the passive endpoint based, at least in part, on the response received.
