摘要： Provided is an inexpensive fixing structure for a surface skin, an operation by which is simple. A fixing structure for a surface skin, the fixing structure being used for fixing to a core 17 a surface skin 14 having an opening 22, wherein the surface skin 14 in at least the portion in which the opening 22 is formed is formed of a soft material, the opening 22 is formed by an edge part 14c of the surface skin 14, a groove 20 is formed in the core 17, and the surface skin 14 is fixed to the core 17 by the edge part 14c of the surface skin 14 being inserted into the groove 20. Since the surface skin 14 is fixed to the core 17 merely by inserting the edge part 14c of the surface skin 14 into the groove 20 in the core 17, a simple operation is realized. Since there is no need to provide the edge part 14c of the surface skin 14 with an attachment device, the fixing structure for the surface skin 14 is inexpensive.

摘要： A headrest in which a pad layer is integrally formed, including a portion with a narrow gap, between a mechanism having various types of incorporated functions and a skin member. A shock absorbing member that is an injection-passage-forming member having a foaming raw material injection passage formed so as to run substantially along a direction that is the vertical direction of the headrest in orientation of when a seat is attached, is set in the inside of a skin member, and a foaming raw material for forming the pad layer is injected through the foaming raw material injection passage. The configuration preferably causes the foaming raw material to spread by the foaming start time, as the foaming raw material spreads to the outer side of the headrest, that is, to the inner surface of the skin member, where the pad layer is required to be formed.

摘要： The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and a method used to upholster a box-spring frame. A textile tape with a portion encapsulating a draw cord is sewn to the inner perimeter of a border material. The other edge of the border material is sewn to a top cover material. The box-spring frame is placed within this assembly, with the top side of the frame abutting the top cover. This assembly is placed in the attachment apparatus. The attachment apparatus optionally compresses the box-spring frame and is equipped with a pair of tension applicators. Once in place, each of the two draw cord ends are secured to a corresponding tension applicator, and tension is applied to the draw cord. This tension tightens the border assembly edge around the frame. With the proper tension applied, the draw cord is secured to the box-spring frame. The bottom cover is then attached in the conventional manner with a series of staples.

In one embodiment, a mattress assembly is provided. The mattress assembly may include a mattress core and an elastic foam edge-support band compressively engaged along the outer perimeter of the mattress core. The mattress core has a sleep surface and an outer perimeter width and length disposed in a corresponding width and length dimension of the sleep surface. Before assembly, the elastic foam edge-support band has a preassembled inner perimeter width and length, which are less in distance than the width and length of the mattress core. As disposed in the mattress assembly, the elastic foam edge-support band has an assembled inner perimeter width and length which are greater in distance than the preassembled inner perimeter width and length of the elastic foam edge-support band.

The facing sheet member is formed by sewing a plurality of facing sheet pieces together at respective end parts thereof. Each of the facing sheet pieces includes a surface member and a pad member laminated on the surface member. In the end part of each of the facing sheet pieces, at least a part of the pad member is removed or the pad member is not laminated on the surface member. The plurality of facing sheet pieces are sewed together using the surface members at the end parts thereof.
