    • The invention relates to a cleaning apparatus (1) for removing solid matter from a liquid, especially for a coolant-lubricant circuit (35). Said cleaning apparatus (1) comprises a hollow cylindrical filter member (2) that separates a crude chamber (6) from a pure chamber (7), an inlet (8) which is located on the crude side and is connected to the crude chamber (6), an outlet (9) which is located on the pure side and is connected to the pure chamber (7), a backwashing device (10) for backwashing the filter member (2) segment by segment, and a discharge mechanism (12) for removing clean solid matter from the crude chamber (6). In order to make it easier to remove clean solid matter from the crude chamber (6), the filter member (2) surrounds the crude chamber (6) while the pure chamber (7) surrounds the filter member (2), and the discharge mechanism (12) is equipped with a screw conveyor (13) which feeds the clean solid matter to a discharge port (14).

    • A filter assembly including a filter housing defining an interior chamber with an open end, a filter disposed within the interior chamber, and a cover removably positioned over the open end to enclose the interior chamber. The filter housing defines an axially-facing sealing surface spaced from the open end. The filter includes a filter element and a flange element, with the flange element having a hook-shaped lip portion defining an axially-facing groove adapted to securely retain an O-ring seal therein. The cover includes an axially-extending sidewall portion and a laterally-extending flange portion, with the sidewall portion defining an outward taper adapted to retain an O-ring seal thereon. A clamp is used to bias the cover into sealing engagement with the open end of the filter housing. The cover in turn biases the flange element of the filter into sealing engagement with the axially-facing sealing surface of the filter housing.

The apparatus comprises a container sized and configured to receive the slurry which container comprises a removable cover sized and configured to enclose an atmosphere within the container when the cover is attached to the container, a filter disposed within the container for separating the liquid from the slurry, and a vacuum pump in fluid communication with the enclosed atmosphere of the container which pump is configured to create a vacuum within the container that causes the liquid to move through the filter, which pump is configured to vacuum material comprised of solid material, liquid material, gas or a combination of two or more of the foregoing. Related methods of separating liquid from the slurry using the apparatus of the invention are also described.

    • A frustum filter used for separation of cation and anion exchange resins, which is used in condensate water polishing system or apparatus, wherein said frustum filter comprises a microporous filtering net body (1) which is formed by sintering a mixture of silicon carbide grains and a binder, said net body being provided with a plurality of micropores, the diameter of said micropores being in a range of 50-300 micron, said filtering net body (1) being shaped as an inverted truncated cone and its maximum diameter being in a range of 50-200 cm, the angle between a inner tapered face and a horizontal plane being in a range of 15°-30° and the thickness of said filtering net body being in a range of 2 cm-14 cm. Some reinforcing steel bars which have the property of high temperature resistance are embedded in said filtering net body(1) in advance. A steel ring (6) welded at the housing (2) is fixed on the external circumference of said filtering net body (1). This invention has the following advantages: it can distribute evenly water and has high strength; it can not be blocked easily and will not create dead zones when filtration; the product of the invention has high strength and cannot be deformed easily over the prior art; it also has the properties of strong acid fastness, strong alkali fastness, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance.

    • A hydraulic system includes a storage tank, a cover assembly and a filter assembly for filtering hydraulic fluid, gasses and air. The tank includes an opening and an attachment ring bounding the opening. The cover assembly has an inlet port and is removably connected to the attachment ring to support and enclose the filter assembly in the tank. The filter assembly includes a filter element having a filter media ring for filtering hydraulic fluid, and an annular breather filter surrounding the filter media ring at one end of the ring for filtering vent gas and air. The filter element is supported in a diffuser tube received in the tank opening. The diffuser tube includes a stand-off ring with a convoluted groove or channel to provide a vent path between the diffuser tube and the tank opening to direct vent gasses and ambient air through or around the breather filter.

    • An apparatus for filtering suspended solids from a liquid having a group of filters mounted inside a filter chamber. The filters divide the chamber into dirty liquid chambers and clean liquid chambers. A wash assembly is disposed within the chamber having vacuum/pump heads in contact with the filters rotates within the chamber. The vacuum/pump heads are connected to a pump and vacuum source located either within or without the apparatus. The vacuum/pump heads either vacuum material up or spray material therefrom in order to clean the filters. As the wash assembly rotates, the vacuum heads are able to contact and clean the entire surface of the filters. The filters are reasonably mounted in the chamber such that they may be removed from the chamber for servicing/replacement without the need to drain the chamber or enter the chamber.
