    • Radio frequency (RF) receivers having whitened digital clocks and related methods are disclosed. Disclosed embodiments generate whitened clocks having random variations that are used to operate digital processing blocks so that interference created by the whitened clocks is seen as white noise within the received RF signal spectrum. RF input signals are received by RF front-ends (RFFEs) that output analog signals associated with channels within the RF input signals. These analog signals are converted to digital information and processed by digital receive path circuitry that outputs digital data associated with the channel. The digital receive path circuitry includes a whitened clock generator that generates a whitened clock having random variations and which a digital processing block that operates based upon the whitened clock. Further, the RFFE and the digital receive path circuitry are located within a single integrated circuit.

    • Methods and systems that enhance interference cancellation in communication channels are described. Samples are obtained from stacked carriers in a received signal and a data vector is created from the samples. Stacked carriers are selected using a steering vector received during synchronization of the receiver. The steering vector is calculated to obtain cancellation of interference from another receiver and is calculated based on time domain channel estimation. Specialized time domain training sequences and simple cross correlation are used to obtain a channel estimate for use in stacked carrier beamforming and/or for use in OFDM based spatial beamforming. State space or filter-based modeled interpolators or whitening matrix-filters in the frequency or time domain are used for interpolation of the channels to maintain linear beamforming weights as a function of time or frequency. Space time adaptive processing facilitates beamforming of communications signals for OFDM and 802.16 (WiMax) systems.

    • Aspects of a method and system for channel estimation in a MIMO communication system with multiple RF chains for WCDMA/HSDPA may comprise receiving a plurality of communication signals from a plurality of transmit antennas. A plurality of vectors of baseband combined channel estimates may be generated based on phase rotation of the received plurality of communication signals. A matrix of processed baseband combined channel estimates may be generated based on the generated plurality of vectors of baseband combined channel estimates. A plurality of amplitude and phase correction signals may be generated based on the generated plurality of vectors of baseband combined channel estimates. An amplitude and a phase of at least a portion of the received plurality of communication signals may be adjusted based on the generated plurality of amplitude and phase correction signals, respectively.
