    • The present invention provides an improved positron radioactive drug radiation shielding device, which achieves savings in space required to store a canister after dismantling the device. Furthermore, a tungsten sleeve is disposed within the canister, and functions in coordination with a syringe. The tungsten sleeve is able to block radioactive radiation released by radioactive drugs contained in the syringe. Moreover, a front cover and a rear cover joined to two sides of the canister enable a hermetically-sealed space to be formed within the canister, which increases the effectiveness of blocking the amount of radiation from the canister, thereby reducing danger to the human body from the radiation.

    • Telescoping leakproof two-piece medical syringe container. An upper tubular member or "cap" closed at its top end is wide enough along its vertical extent and downward to surround a syringe plunger, and also extends laterally from near its open lower end outward and downward to that end, so as to surround a finger grip of a syringe. A lower tubular member or "body" closed at its bottom end is wide enough along its vertical extent and upward to surround a syringe barrel with optional attached needle, and also extends laterally, from near its open upper end outward and upward to that end, so as to surround the syringe finger grip. The cap member and the body member telescope snugly together, and are retained against accidental opening by one or more detents on the open end of one of the tubular members overlapping the end of the other tubular member. At least one open end is tapered relative to the other open end to ensure that a leakproof container results when telescoped together.

    • A gas ampoule for the shipment and delivery of radioactive gases. The gas ampoule having a glass tube with serum bottle stopper on one end and a plunger tip in the opposite end all fitting in a larger plastic tube threaded on each end with absorbent between the tubes, is seated onto the internal needle assembly via a bushing associated with the plunger and locked into the syringe barrel via barrel-bushing locking caps. The design practically eliminates the possibility of personnel contamination due to an inadvertent exposure of such personnel to the contained radioactive gas.

    • An apparatus for dispensing a gas contained in a sealed ampule, typically a radioactive gas dissolved in a saline solution. A housing with a cavity for receiving the ampule, the housing having a lead shield surrounded by a steel sleeve, and a cap for closing the cavity in the shield. First and second flow paths are provided in the housing from the exterior of the housing to a seat which engages the ampule output line. A syringe is attached on the outside of the housing and connects with the first flow path. A hollow needle is positioned in the second flow path with one end entering the ampule outlet line for breaking the ampule seal. A valve on the outer end of the needle is normally closed so that when the needle breaks the seal, liquid from the syringe is drawn into the ampule with the gas dissolving in the liquid. Then the gas-liquid solution is withdrawn through the needle and valve.
