    • A method and apparatus for a pressure control system for an actuator is provided. In one embodiment, the pressure control system may include a housing defining an upper chamber and a lower chamber, and a piston disposed between the upper and lower chambers. A valve may be coupled to the piston that is operable to control fluid communication between the upper chamber and the lower chamber. In one embodiment, a method of controlling over-pressurization of an actuator includes supplying a fluid pressure to a first chamber of an actuator having a piston and actuating the piston using the fluid pressure. The method may further include relieving the fluid pressure from the first chamber through a valve that is coupled to the piston when the fluid pressure exceeds a predetermined maximum pressure.

    • The invention relates to a relief valve comprising a first valve body (3) for opening and closing a fluid passageway (33) between a first valve connection (31) and a second valve connection (32), a second valve body (4) which is disposed on the first valve body (3) and is used for opening and closing a valve passageway (3A) located between the first valve connection (31) and a valve interior (9) in the first valve body (3), at least one throttle duct (11) that establishes a connection between the valve interior (9) and a face (3B) of the first valve body (3), a spring (10) for moving the second valve body (4) in an opening direction of the second valve body (4), and an actuator (2, 7) for moving the second valve body (4) in a closing direction. A movable member (2) of the actuator (2, 7) is arranged such that said movable member (2) can be moved further in the same direction once the second valve body (4) has been closed, thus allowing the first valve body (3) to be moved in an opening direction of the first valve body (3) by having the second valve body (4) engage with the valve seat (3c) located on the first valve body (3). Furthermore, a stop element (13) which is effectively connected to the second valve body (4) and/or the movable member (2) can be made to engage with the first valve body (3) by means of the elastic force of the spring (10) in order to move the first valve body (3) in a closing direction with the help of the spring.
