    • A transfer member includes a dyeing layer transfer member, which has a lubricating heat-resistant layer on the reverse surface of a first base material and laminated layers of a parting layer and a dyeing layer on the obverse surface, an ink transfer member, having a lubricating heat-resistant layer on the reverse surface of a second base material and the laminated layers of an adhesive layer and an ink layer, an intermediate member having a functional layer on a third base material, and an image-receptor. A thermal transfer printing method includes the steps of thermally transferring the dyeing layer onto the functional layer by setting a thermal head in contact with the lubricating heat-resistant layer of the dyeing layer transfer member, thermally transferring dye of the ink layer onto the dyeing layer that was transferred onto the functional layer in response to picture signals by setting the thermal head in contact with the lubricating heat-resistant layer of the ink transfer member, and thermally transferring the dyeing layer recorded with the: dye onto the main surface of the image-receptor. Thus, pictorial images of high quality are formed on the image-receptor, and thermal transfer printing can be carried out repeatedly and stably.

    • A thermal transfer medium comprising:a thermal transfer film comprising a substrate film and a hot-melt ink layer provided on said substrate film, said hot-melt ink layer containing a thermoplastic elastomer having a rubber elasticity; and an image receiving sheet superposed peelably onto said thermal transfer film on the side of said hot-melt ink layer; wherein (i) the thermal transfer medium is formed by separately preparing said image receiving sheet and said thermal transfer film, superposing said image receiving sheet on said thermal transfer film on the side of said hot-melt ink layer, and adhering said image receiving sheet and said thermal transfer film in a peelable manner; (ii) said hot-melt ink layer is formed by coating said substrate film with a hot-melt ink; (iii) the adhesive strength under shear in an area of adhesion between said thermal transfer film on the side of said hot-melt ink layer and a 25.times.55 m.sup.2 area of said image receiving sheet ranges from 300 to 2000 g; and (iv) the 90.degree. peeling strength at a printed portion of the thermal transfer medium after printing ranges from 0.1 to 50 g/25 mm.

    • A heat sensitive recording material is provided which can be simply prevented from falsification and is excellent in contrast between fixed portion and image portion, and a recording method using it is further provided. Moreover, there is provided a heat sensitive recording material capable of carrying out multicolor recording which is excellent in contrast of the image portions, density of the image portions, and image storage stability. That is, the present invention provides a heat sensitive recording material comprising a support and, provided thereon, one or a plurality of heat sensitive recording layers which contains at least one water-insoluble resin selected from the group consisting of an aromatic resin, a resin having a low or no acid value and a resin having a carbonyl group and an alicyclic unit, a heat sensitive recording material in which substantially no crystallized color developer is contained in a mixed melt obtained by mixing a given amount of the resin and a given amount the color developer, heating and melting the mixture and, then, leaving the melt to cool, and a recording method which carries out simultaneously the formation of an image portion by applying a low energy and the formation of a fixed portion by applying a high energy by a heating means on the above heat sensitive recording material by a thermal head.
