摘要： To load fastening elements into the muzzle end of the barrel in an explosive powder driven setting gun, a tubular shaped feeding device is pivotally connected to the housing of the gun for movement between a first position where a fastening element can be inserted into the feeding device and a second position where the tubular shaped feeding device is aligned with the muzzle end of the barrel. An ejector is movably positioned in the feeding device for inserting a fastening element into the muzzle end of the barrel. The feeding device includes a member which prevents displacement of the barrel into the firing position when the feeding device is in the second position.

The barrel with its muzzle, cartridge chamber, breech block, and firing device forms an assembly which slides in a tubular casing rigidly attached to the stock of the apparatus which carries the trigger, the assembly being urged by means of a spring in the firing direction. The trigger is only able to operate the firing device when the front end of the muzzle of the barrel is protruding from the tubular casing by a length less than a given length.

摘要： A power tool for driving fasteners by the explosion of a charge which propels a piston within a bore of a barrel includes a conical shoulder in a pin guide bushing which terminates the forward end of the bore and a complementary conical surface on an enlarged piston head facing the conical shoulder and matable therewith in an overdriven position of the piston. In this manner, the piston is brought to a standstill in the overdriven position by engagement of the conical shoulder and conical surface. A pivotally mounted latch is provided which is adapted to resiliently engage the piston for returning the same to the initial position while frictionally sliding thereagainst without moving the piston when the barrel of the tool containing the piston is returned to its cocked position.

摘要： In a device for driving fastening elements, such as nails and the like, into a target material, the device has an axially extending bore through which the fastening elements are driven with explosive force by means of a piston and a channel perpendicularly intersects the forward end of the bore for guiding a holder strip supporting the fastening elements through the bore so that the fastening elements can be axially aligned into position to be driven by the piston. The forward or muzzle end of the bore has a larger diameter than its rearward end. The rearward end of the bore serves as a guide for the piston while the forward end guides the fastening elements to be driven from the device. The length of the channel in the axial direction of the bore is sufficient to receive and guide the entire length of the fastening element into the bore. Further, the channel has two pair of guide grooves, one for the holder strip and the other for the head of the fastening element.
