摘要： A heeling rope is provided having the usual hondo formed one end of the rope and a loop being formed by the other end portion of the rope being passed through and slidingly received in the hondo. The loop tip opposite that portion of the loop parallelling the spoke of the rope is weighted throughout a longitudinal extent of the loop generally equal to one-third the peripheral size of the loop. The weighted portion of the loop retains substantially all of its flexibility although slight stiffening of the weighted portion of the loop does exist and the weighting of the loop tip greatly facilitates the feel of the loop by the user immediately prior to release of the loop and spoke of the rope during a heeling roping operation.

摘要： A device for use in the training of a dog, for example to dissuade the dog from barking. The device, which is carried by the collar of the dog, has a tank which carries a substance that affects the special senses of the dog, particularly the nose and the eyes. The tank has a valve which, when activated, releases a spray of the substance in the region of the head of the dog. An electronic circuit is provided to actuate the valve of the tank when desired, for example, in response to a signal from a microphone with a filter which is sensitive to the frequencies that correspond to those of the bark of the dog. The electronic circuit may also be responsive to a signal from a remote transmitter, to permit a trainer to actuate the release of the spray when desired as part of the training of the dog, and a selector switch may be provided to selectively permit the release of the spray either on command from a remote location or automatically in response to the barking of the dog. The special substance in the tank may either be in the form of a pressurized aerosol of the substance, or a pump may be provided to pressurize a normally unpressurized substance at the time of its release.

Hopples of this type comprising four ovate hopple members each of which is adapted to surround one leg of a horse to which the hopple is fitted, each of which hopple members is provided at each end with a riser strap carrying a buckle used to connect the riser strap to a supporting strap passing over the horse. The present invention is characterized in that at least some of the supporting straps are bifurcated at their ends and the corresponding riser straps are provided with a pair of buckles. The bifurcated supporting strap substantially eliminates the problem of a hopple member breaking free from its associated supporting strap and falling down thereby tripping the horse.

摘要： A lifting device which may be rolled to a position under an object to effect lifting thereof. The device of the invention is particularly useful in the lifting of human patients as it accomplishes lifting without sliding action between the patient and the exterior of the lifting device. The lifting device includes a hollow member of flexible material with a recess running from end to end entirely through the member. The member also defines an enclosed chamber surrounding the recess and having a generally elongated, flattened, toroidal configuration. Preferably, the chamber is filled with a fluid medium for supporting the member and maintaining its shape. A protecting device is engageable both with said recess and with the exterior of said member to cover and protect the same. At least part of the surface of the hollow member which faces the interior of the chamber may include a layer of lubricant thereon to facilitate rolling of the member.
