    • A method of releasably securing an article with an audio recording includes handling a binder clip having audio circuitry with recordation and playback capabilities. The binder clip includes a pair of actuating arms and a gripping portion. The audio circuitry is in the form other than that of a cell phone attached to the binder clip. The method additionally includes compressing the pair of actuating arms of the binder clip above the gripping portion to expand the gripping portion and inserting at least a portion of the article into the gripping portion. The method further includes releasing the actuating arms so that the gripping portion grips the portion of the article inside the binder clip and recording audio onto the audio circuitry.

    • An electrical system for a turbine/alternator comprising a gas driven turbine and permanent magnet alternator rotating on a common shaft comprises an inverter circuit connectable either to an AC output circuit or the stator winding of the alternator. A control circuit during a startup mode switches the inverter circuit to the stator winding of the alternator and during a power out mode switches the inverter circuit to the AC output circuit. Thus, during the startup mode, the alternator functions as a motor to raise the speed of the turbine to a safe ignition speed and in the power out mode the electrical system outputs to the AC output circuit, electrical power having a frequency unrelated to the rotational speed of the alternator.

    • A rotary cam member (24) has a peripheral surface disposed about an axis. The peripheral surface includes first, second, and third portions that are, respectively, first, second, and third radial distances (R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3) from the axis. R.sub.1 is greater than R.sub.2 and less than R.sub.3. The third portion is positioned circumferentially between the first and second portions. Cam member (24) has an open position in which the second portion contacts the clamp (2, 4) with which lever (22) is being used and a closed position in which the first portion contacts clamp (2, 4). A handle (26) projects from cam member (24) for pivoting cam member (24) back and forth between its open and closed positions. A barrel nut (28) is received in a cylindrical axial hole in cam member (24) and engages pull member (8, 10) that closes clamp (2, 4). Clamp (2, 4) is opened and closed by pivoting cam member (24) into its open and closed positions and rotating it about the longitudinal axis of pull member (8, 10), and thereby pushing and pulling pull member (8, 10). Handle (26) is dimensioned to provide sufficient but not excessive leverage. Lever (22, 22') may be engaged by a conventional support bar (40, 50) to support clamp (2, 4).
