摘要： A bracket for retaining a stair rod includes a first bracket portion defining a first bracket plane for affixing the first bracket portion to a stair and a second bracket portion rotatably coupled to the first bracket portion for rotation between bracket open and bracket closed positions and defining a second bracket plane wherein the first and second bracket planes are coplanar only when the bracket is in the bracket closed position. Friction between a surface of the first bracket portion and a surface of the second bracket portion can provides a friction fit between the first and second bracket portions and maintain the bracket in the bracket closed position. An axis is defined by an intersection of the first and second bracket planes wherein the friction fit is provided by friction between the surfaces of the first and second bracket portions in the vicinity of the axis.

The slidably interconnecting stair rod brackets each have a top portion and a bottom portion. The finials each have a male fastening portion for fastening the bracket through the travel stop to the rod. A stair rod bracket kit having a bracket as previously described, where the bracket has a plurality of top portions for use with a single bottom portion is included. The top portions of the bracket in the stair rod bracket kit differ in the presence or absence of indicia on them, or by the presence of differing indicia on them. A stair rod kit having a pair of finials, a stair carpet retaining rod, and a pair of slidably interconnecting stair rod brackets with interchangeable top portions, as described for the stair rod bracket kit is included.

摘要： A device for finishing a wet plaster surface is disclosed. The device of the present invention comprises a finishing tool holder which includes a handle engaging lower end. An upper end of the holder broadens to a planar fan shape, and the upper end is notched to create a step. A filler piece complementary to and substantially filling the notch is inserted therein. A threaded fastener proximate a lower end of the notch secures a lower end of the filler piece to the handle. A pair of spaced apertures near the upper end of the holder are aligned with a pair of spaced apertures in the filler piece, and a pair of threaded fasteners engage the aligned apertures to secure a variety of surface finishing tools to the holder. The surface finishing tools which are directly attachable to the handle include an elongated brush, a variety of trowels with various widths and edge forms, and a circular or star-shaped cup. Each of the above tools is attached to the handle by a flange insertable between the handle and the filler piece with a pair of spaced apertures aligned with the apertures formed in the handle to accommodate a pair of threaded fasteners which secure the tool to the handle.
