摘要： A system, method and apparatus is disclosed for obtaining real-time information associated with a telecommunication network. The system includes a computing system including one or more computers having one or more processors for executing logic instructions associated with one or more computer programs and a first memory for storing the logic instructions to be executed; a database server, in communication with the computing system, the database server having a second memory for storing logic instructions to be executed thereon and a storage device in communication with the database server or the computing system for storing the information associated with the telecommunication network. The method includes enabling access to the information associated with the telecommunication network to one or more computer software programs stored in a storage device that is in communication with a computing system; and enabling the one or more software programs to access the modifications on a real-time basis when any of the information associated with the telecommunication network is modified. The apparatus includes a storage device for storing one or more software programs at least one control program thereon; and a computing system coupled thereto, the computing system including one or more computers having one or more processors for executing logic instructions, the computing system being adapted for communicating with a database server; an adapter coupled to the computing system for interfacing the computing system with the telecommunication network.

摘要： An architecture for a management information system includes a backend that services information requests from a front end. The backend retrieves data from management information base(s) (MIBs) and prepares a response to the information requests. The backend maintains a cache of data recently retrieved from the MIBs and uses the cache to retrieve data, instead of making additional requests to the MIBs. The responses may be prepared from cache data only, MIB data only, or a combination of both. The back end is preferably maintained on a same segment of a network as the MIBs. Multiple MIBs may be queried from the back end, and the backend may coordinate with back ends on other segments of the network.

摘要： A method of estimating a trouble in a network is disclosed, including the following steps: displaying a model network in which the network is modeled by each combination of a network apparatus and a connection; inputting information of trouble portion in the model network and trouble symptom; registering at least trouble portion, trouble symptom, cause portion, and frequency of past trouble instances occurred in the model network to an instance database; retrieving the instance database using the input trouble portion and trouble symptom as retrieval keys; and estimating and displaying cause of the trouble based on the cause portion and frequency of a retrieved instances record. The past trouble instances accumulated in the instance database can be retrieved by the instance retrieval unit using the trouble portion and trouble symptom as the retrieval key. The network trouble estimation apparatus can estimate the cause portion at high accuracy.

The system operates by first receiving a request for a next row from a network management protocol table. The system then compares the object identifier in the request with a pre-calculated object identifier. If the object identifier does not match the pre-calculated object identifier, the system searches a management information base for the next row in the network management protocol table. Next, the system calculates a response, which includes data from requested columns of the next row. The system then responds to the request.
