    • In an electric motor, each tooth of the stator has a radially extending pillar portion and the number of teeth per magnetic pole is k. When the number k is odd and a center line passing each pole agrees with a center of a circumferential width of one tooth, the pole has first and second corners which are the closest to the stator and positioned before and after the center line in a rotational direction, respectively, and the teeth includes teeth which are the closest to the first and second corners and defined as first and second teeth, respectively. The first and second corners are located according to positional relationships of the first and second teeth and edges of the pillar portions of the first and second teeth in the rotation direction.

    • A rotor for a rotary electric machine includes a rotor core which is formed by crimping laminated steel plates so as to be opposed to a stator, and has pairs of magnet housing holes disposed in a V shape, and pairs of magnets housed in the magnet housing holes. The rotor core has a crimped portion formed in a q axis core portion positioned between the two magnet poles, which are adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction, a first flux barrier formed between the q axis core portion and the magnet, and a pair of second flux barriers which enlarges from an end positioned at a center side of the magnet pole of the magnet housing holes toward a central axis of the rotor core. The crimped portion is formed so that distances between the crimped portion and both the first and second flux barriers are equal.

    • A multilayer laminated rotor is mountable on a shaft for rotation relative to a stator of a rotary electric machine arrangement. The rotor has a plurality of laminas, joined together, and voids for receiving magnets. An annular rotor section, which surrounds a shaft opening within which the shaft is receivable, extends between the shaft opening and a radially outer circumferential rotor surface. The annular section mentioned includes an undulating series of the voids in void groups extending from the radially outer circumferential rotor surface inwardly toward the shaft opening and then back toward the radially outer circumferential rotor surface, as well as a solid radially interior portion without any of the voids. Distal voids in the void groups include curved, arcuate, or recurved stress relieving features extending inwardly from radially innermost corner locations of the distal voids.
