摘要： A television viewing device for simulating the environment of a motion picture theater comprising in combination a viewing screen having an opening formed therein sized to expose the television tube. A pair of glasses like frames is used with the viewing screen. These frames having light blocking shields for preventing ambient light in the room in a home where a television set is situated from entering the eyes of the viewer through the top, bottom and sides of the frame. A light blocking shield is mounted in front of the frame in place of the glasses. This shield is provided with a narrow slit which can be varied in size, through which light from the viewing screen and television tube can be viewed. The surface of the viewing screen facing the viewer painted black so the only light visible to the viewer comes from the viewing screen, whereby the environment of a motion picture theater can be simulated in the home.

摘要： A method and apparatus for improving visual acuity during sports activities includes the steps of increasing the strength of the image on the brain half corresponding to the weaker eye of a person by substantially occluding ambient light to the dominant eye of the person for a period of approximately one to two weeks for at least one hour per day; forcing both brain halves to operate at substantially equal visual levels in coordination with each other by wearing eyeglasses having inner opaque sections adjacent the nose bridge so as to limit overlapping vision of the two eyes to a small overlapping area, the inner opaque areas being inwardly and downwardly inclined at an angle of approximately 20 with respect to a nasal axis extending through the nose of the person; and forcing both brain halves to operate independently of each other at substantially equal visual levels by increasing the areas of the opaque sections so as to eliminate the overlapping area, which forces each brain half to process the visual information supplied to it independently of the other brain half, such that the eyes of the person can operate independently and in synchronism, with the same angle of approximately 20 being maintained.

摘要： In an optical toy device and a method of manufacturing the same, a frame for eyeglasses is cutout of a blank which is provided with two pairs of holes aligned with each other and is coated with a vinyl material on a side thereof. Adhesive is applied to the reverse side of the blank, and two feathers are attached to its reverse side to overlap two holes on one half of the blank and form with the holes eyepiece lenses. The blank is folded at its backside together so that its halves are glued to each other. The frame having two eyepiece lenses are formed thereby. A temple bar folded to form thereon two hinges is heat-sealed to the frame. The feathers are attached to the frame in such fashion that the barbs of the feather overlapping one hole for one eyepiece are angularly oriented with the barbs of the feather overlapping another hole for the other eyepiece to produce an X-ray image of an object to be viewed.

摘要： The improved eye protectors of the present invention comprise a pair of eye cups, and a transparent readily heat remoldable bridge releasably connected to the cups. The bridge can be shaped to fit nose bridges of various sizes and shapes, and can be regulated to adjust the spacing of the cups to accommodate various eye distances. The cups are generally hemispherical and either opaque or transparent and tinted to protect the eyes from both sun and wind. One form of eye cup is cut away on a lower portion to form a sun shade over the eye, or upon reversal, to form a mini eye protector. Another form of the protector is transparent, has a head strap for use by skiers, etc., as a form of goggles. The protectors are simple, inexpensive and durable, with a variety of novel characteristics and uses, providing various forms of eye shading and protection while allowing tanning through the nose bridge and the head strap. Metallic plating of the cups keeps the cups cool when used in the direct sun.

An opaque or slightly transparent support is adapted to be held to the wearer's head at the level of the eyes. The support has an upper horizontal part, a front vertical part and two side blinders. The front part has sloped cutouts at the level of the eyes and is provided with laterally slidable portions each having a notch flared toward the bottom. The notched portions may be adjusted to the visual field of the wearer. In this way maximum protection of the eyes is obtained against all radiation outside of the direct field of vision of the wearer.

The device is constituted by a molded plate having a profile defining a pair of eyepieces joined to a nose piece, each eyepiece having a pattern of pin holes therein adapted to project a clear image of the object viewed on the related eye of the wearer, the pin holes being treated to obviate corona effects. The spacings between holes in the pattern is such that when the plate is placed against the eyes, the eye is unable to resolve the hole pattern and the holes in each eyepiece appear to merge to form one large opening.
