    • An image displaying speedometer includes an input section configured to receive a movement input and a decision input among various inputs, and a display section that output information. The display section outputs a speed scale and either one of a first index which indicates a part of the speed scale and a second index which indicates a part of the speed scale as information, the first index being different from the second index. The display section outputs the first index so as to indicate the part of the speed scale in accordance with the movement input received by the input section, and outputs the second index, instead of the first index, so as to indicate the part of the speed scale which has been indicated by the first index after the input section receives the decision input.

    • The invention relates to an indicating instrument, particularly for a motor vehicle, comprising an approximately circular scale (12), which is placed on a dial (5), provided for a physical quantity, and along which a pointer (10) can be displaced whereby being able to be rotatably driven about an axis of rotation. Additionally provided is a marking that indicates a particular area of the scale (12). The marking is placed on a part (27), which is situated underneath the plane of the dial (5) whereby enabling it to be rotatably driven about the axis or rotation of the pointer (10) into a control position. The dial (5) comprises, along the movement path of the marking, a window (13) through which the marking can be viewed from the front of the indicating instrument.

    • A method and system for autoflight information display. A method in accordance with one embodiment of the invention includes determining if an automatic aircraft controller is controlling an aircraft function based at least in part on a target aircraft speed. If so, the method further includes displaying alphanumeric information corresponding to the operation of the automatic aircraft controller at a first location of a display medium. If not, the method further includes displaying the alphanumeric information at a second location of the display medium different than the first location. The first location can be aligned with a display of the aircraft speed, and the second location can be aligned with a display of the aircraft altitude. In another embodiment of the invention, engine control information can be integrated with a display of aircraft autopilot and/or autothrottle information.
