    • A finned-tube heat transfer device (1) has a housing (2) enclosing a first flow path (3) for a first fluid with a first inlet (4) and a first outlet (5). A tube system (9) forms a second flow path (10) for a second fluid with a second inlet (11) and a second outlet (12) and which is coupled to the first flow path (3) in the housing (2) in a heat transferring manner. The tube system (9) has a multitude of tubes (13) that are parallel to one another, which extend between two housing walls (7) laterally delimiting the first flow path (3). The tubes are provided with fins (14), within the first flow path (3), which are fluidically interconnected outside the first flow path (3). A simplified producability can be achieved if the fluidic connection of the tubes (13) is effected within the two housing walls (7).

    • A heat exchanger includes reservoirs spaced apart from each other and a plurality of parallel heat transfer tubes fluidly connecting the reservoirs. An end portion of each heat transfer tube is connected to at least one of the reservoirs so that the end portion does not project into the interior of the reservoir. Thus, the dimension of the reservoir in the axial direction of the tubes and a proper volume of heat transfer medium may be minimized. Further, pressure loss can be reduced because there are no projecting tubes in the reservoirs to obstruct the flow of the heat transfer medium. Moreover, the strength of the connection between the tubes and the reservoirs can be increased because more contacting surface area is provided for making the connection, for example by brazing.

    • A heat exchanger comprises a first tank and a second tank spaced vertically from the first tank. The first tank includes a first partition disposed therein to divide the first tank into a first number of chambers, wherein the first number of chambers is at least two and has respectively an inlet to allow the heat transfer medium to enter the heat exchanger and an outlet to allow the heat transfer medium to exit the heat exchanger. The second tank includes a second partition disposed therein to divide the second tank into a second number of chambers, wherein the second number of chambers is preferably one less than the first number of chambers. The first tank and the second tank respectively include a concave surface horizontally formed on walls of the tanks, wherein one end of each of the first and second partitions respectively insert into each of the concave surfaces for preventing overturn of the partitions during assembly of the tanks. In this manner, the partition plates do not fall down during the assembly process of the tanks. Further, the partition plates do not incline and move from a predetermined place during the process.

    • A heat exchange assembly is disclosed, which assembly when placed, for example, in a temperature controlled environment, allows heat exchange between the environment and a fluid passed through the assembly. The heat exchange assembly comprises a plurality of elongated headers each having closed ends and longitudinally arranged inlet holes and outlet holes to provide fluid passage through the header from the inlet holes to the outlet holes transversely to the longitudinal. The headers are interconnected by tubes so that the fluid will pass sequentially through successive headers. Each header may advantageously be provided with a removable plate to allow insertion of cleaning reamers into the inside of the tubes. The heat exchange assembly is adapted to be constructed from readily available materials to form a self-supporting unitary structure.

    • The invention disclosed in this application relates to an improvement in a water cooling system for an engine of the type that passes air and water through the radiator at relatively low flow rates whenever the engine is running in its low idle speed condition. The radiator is disclosed as having upper and lower headers interconnected by a plurality of parallel extending rows of water tubes. A means responsive to the engine speed is provided for converting the water flow through the water tubes from a plurality of parallel paths to a single series path upon the engine speed dropping to its low idle speed condition.
