摘要： An improved faucet assembly having a cam actuated mixing control valve is disclosed. The assembly includes a housing having an interior bore defined by an inner wall portion having a pair of circumferentially spaced inlets and a pair of outlets. A control valve is slidably mounted in the bore so that the control valve can rotate and move in an axial direction therein. The valve includes a cylindrical portion having two circumferentially spaced passages formed therethrough and extending into an inner mixing chamber within the bore. The valve includes a pair of spaced elongated wall portions integrally formed with the control valve within the bore. An actuating assembly is operatively connected to the valve to move the valve in an axial direction and to rotate the valve in the bore. The actuating assembly includes an elongated control stem rotatably mounted within the mixing chamber and which has an eccentrically mounted actuating cam portion disposed between the elongated wall portion for engagement therewith. A pair of axially spaced retaining shoulders mounted on the control stem retain the valve at the ends of the elongated wall portions so that the valve moves with the stem in an axial direction. The outer surface of the eccentrically mounted cam portion engages the elongated wall portions to rotatably move the valve in the bore when the stem is rotated about its longitudinal axis.

Connection of working ports 12, 14 to a pressure port 34 or one or other of two exhaust ports 28, 32, is controlled by a piston valve 60 loaded to the position shown by a spring 50 and slidable in a ported sleeve 38 held in place between a plug 42 and sleeve 52, through an opening in which passes a stud 62 upstanding from the valve 60. The valve is actuated via a cam roller on a lever 84, a thimble 66 axially movable into the sleeve 52, a spring 74 between the thimble, and a plunger 70 engageable with the stud 62. Lost-motion between the lever 84 and valve 60 is provided by the spring 74 and upon the valve 60 abutting the plug 42 further lost-motion is permissible due to a crosspin 78 in the plunger 70 being slidable in an opening 76 in the thimble 66. A number of valves may be bolted together to form a stack, the ports 28, 32, 34 being aligned with corresponding ports in the adjacent valves. The valve casing has a cover plate 56, the securing bolts 58 for which are accessible through openings in the lever 84. In a modification, the valve is arranged for individual use with the ports 38, 32, 34 opening through the side of the casing opposite to the working ports. The upper exhaust port is of reduced size and flow therethrough is controlled by an independent manually-adjustable needlevalve.

摘要： A passive diverter is provided that does not require a dedicated motor to switch between multiple outlet ports. The diverter uses the forces provided by a flow of fluid from a pump to switch between different outlet ports and supply one or more spray assemblies or other fluid-using elements. A separate motor to power the diverter is not required, which allows a savings in costs and space. In addition, a secondary set of ramps may provide a manner in which to “zero” the angular position of the diverter, i.e., place the diverter in a known, home position. This can reduce the additional cost, weight, and complexity of including additional sensors to determine the angular position of the diverter.
