    • A method is used to produce a piston pump having a housing and a piston subassembly. The piston subassembly is displaceably guided in the housing and has a first, rod-like piston element and a second, sleeve-like piston element. The second piston element is connected to the first piston element via a press fit. At least one transverse bore and a longitudinal bore are arranged in the second piston element. A stop edge for the housing is arranged on the second piston element. The piston subassembly also has an inlet valve, which includes a receiving element, in which an inlet valve spring and an inlet valve sealing element are arranged. The piston subassembly also has a corresponding inlet valve seat, which is arranged on the second piston element. While the second piston element is being machined, the press fit and the longitudinal bore are produced and/or finished in one step.

    • A pump device and method minimizes the quantity of air in a vehicle brake system by reducing the volume of detrimental space. The device includes a piston movable between first and second end points, a line system that conducts fluid through the device, and a closing element, movable between an open position releasing the flow of the fluid and a closed position interrupting the fluid flow, that selectively releases the flow of the fluid through the device. The line system includes a through-line formed in the piston for conducting the fluid through the piston. By virtue of a section of the through-line that receives the closing element in the piston, a force is generated that is transmittable from the fluid to the closing element that moves the closing element in the direction of its closed position when the piston is moving in the direction of the first end point.

    • A pump of an electronically controlled brake system. The pump includes a bore formed in a modulator block and connected with a suction port and a discharge port, a piston installed in the bore in a reciprocating movable manner and defining an inlet path therein, an inlet valve to open or close an exit-side end of the inlet path according to a position of the piston, and an outlet valve provided at one side of the bore, operations of the inlet and outlet valves being contrary to each other. The outlet valve includes a valve seat, a sleeve to surround the valve seat, an outlet ball interposed between the sleeve and the valve seat and used to open or close a path defined in the valve seat, and a valve cap provided at one side of the sleeve to isolate an interior from an exterior of the bore. One or more of the valve sheet, sleeve, and valve cap are formed by press-forming, to achieve improved assembly efficiency and reduced manufacturing costs.

    • A piston pump includes a pump housing having a suction port and a discharge port. A piston is mounted in a bore of the pump housing and forms a pump chamber. Suction and discharge valves are provided on the opposite sides of the pump chamber, respectively. The suction valve includes a retainer which is mounted on the piston and has a valve bore which communicates with the suction port, a valve seat which is formed at the pump chamber end of the valve bore, and a valve body holding portion and a spring holding portion. The suction valve also includes a valve body which can seat and unseat from the valve seat and which is received and held by the valve body holding portion, and a spring which is received and held by the spring holding portion and biases the valve body towards the valve seat.
