    • A four-stroke engine with an isolation chamber. The isolation chamber has a pressure-sensitive wall attached to or slidably mounted within the isolation chamber. The pressure-sensitive wall is substantially impervious to air, oil, and fuel. When the piston moves away from the crankcase, a vacuum is created in the crankcase. This draws the pressure-sensitive wall toward the crankcase, fluidwise, and movement of the pressure sensitive wall pulls air into the intake side of the isolation chamber through a one-way valve or time induction mechanism. When the piston moves toward the crankcase, increased pressure within the crankcase forces the pressure-sensitive wall away, fluidwise, from the crankcase and pushes air from the isolation chamber into the combustion chamber. The pressure-sensitive wall prevents oil from flowing from the crankcase. Power in a four-stroke engine is increased up to as much as 40%, without the necessity to employ superchargers or turbochargers.

    • This invention concerns a two-stroke cycle engine, more specially it concerns a two-stroke cycle engine using a preceding air-layer for scavenging. It has a scavenger passage connected to a branching scavenger passage opened to said scavenging port. The engine has a connecting passage to link the air passage and the fuel passages so that negative pressure in the air passage forces the fuel-air mixture in the fuel passage into said air passage. Further, the engine according to this invention has a removable guide with a surface forming a curved smooth channel which is attachable to the scavenger passage in the crankcase from the mounting surface, and forms a portion of said scavenger passage with the curved channel. The blowup angle of the scavenger passage varies along the circumferential direction of the cylinder. The crankcase is configured in such a way that the front and rear portions, which are separated by a block, and a scavenger passage is provided inside both said front and rear portions of said crankcase, and the cylinder. The air cleaner has two air passages running from it in parallel, the first one is connected to said air passage, and the second one is connected to the air inlet of the carburetor to provide air for the fuel passage, and a choke valve on the air cleaner is provided to open and close both of the first and second air passages.

    • The invention relates to the combination of an air filter and a membrane carburetor (1). The membrane carburetor (1) has an intake channel section (3) configured in the carburetor housing (2) into which the fuel-conducting channels (4, 4′) open which are fed from a control chamber (5) of the carburetor housing (2). The control chamber (5) is separated by a control membrane (6) from the compensation chamber (7). A compensation channel (11) leads from the compensation chamber (7) into a flow space (9). A connecting piece (8) is led into the flow space (9) as a connection of the intake channel section (3) of the membrane carburetor (1) with the flow space (9). The compensation channel (11) and the connecting piece (8) open into the housing (21) on the clean air side (23). The housing (21) forms the flow space (9). The compensation channel (11) is guided into the housing (21) via a segment (10) in the connecting piece (8) to provide a simpler assembly and constructive configuration of the compensation connection. The opening (15) of the compensation channel (11) defines a first plane (17). The opening (16) of the connecting piece (8) defines a second plane (18).     • An air intake apparatus is mounted on a motorcycle provided with a V-type engine having a front cylinder and a rear cylinder. Carburetors are provide for the respective cylinders, and a sub-chamber is interposed between an air cleaner and the side of the engine. Communication tubes for feeding air from the air cleaner to the respective carburetors are disposed inwardly of the air cleaner in the width direction of the motorcycle body and outwardly of the carburetors in the width direction of the motorcycle body. The sub-chamber is extended downward, and the communication tube extending from one of the carburetors is connected projectedly into the sub-chamber. In this way, the volume of a sub-chamber is secured and the air intake characteristics of a plurality of communication tubes for air intake are equalized by equalizing the length of the communication tubes.
