    • A lock is applied in an electronic device including a main body and a display. The display includes a first hook able to pass through the main body. The lock includes a base, a rack, a shaft and a gear. The rack is slidably connected to the base and includes a second hook. The shaft is secured to the base. The gear is rotatably connected to the shaft and engages the rack. The gear defines a latching slot to receive a portion of a key, which allows the gear to rotate together with the key to cause the rack to slide. The second hook is moveable together with the rack to a position where the second hook engages the first hook to lock the display to the main body. An electronic device using the lock is also provided.

    • A handle-latch assembly mounted on a horizontal sliding door and coupled to a vertically movable latch bolt which protrudes outwardly from a top or bottom door edge, and which enables the inside and outside handles of the door to be respectively used for moving the door in closing and opening directions. The door has a manual lock actuator on the inside of the door, and an optional key-lock actuator on the outside of the door, whereby latching the door in the closed position requires a deliberate manual manipulation of either the inner lock actuator or the outer key actuator. The assembly permits sequential unlocking and opening of the door from the inside by application of a single horizontally-directed force to the inner handle. The handle-latch mechanism includes cooperating linkages, and the linkages are automatically reset into an unlocked position whenever the locked door is opened from the inside.

    • A lock handle assembly for a multi-point casement window is disclosed. The lock handle assembly includes an escutcheon for mounting to the inside surface of the frame. The escutcheon includes an elongated body which features an inner side facing away from the inside surface of the frame and an outer side that extends through the inside surface of the frame. The escutcheon further includes an elongated slot for receiving a handle through the inner side of the escutcheon. The slot comprises an upper end and a lower end defined by upper and lower walls respectively. The handle is pivotally connected to the escutcheon by a shaft having an axis that extends transversely through the slot. The shaft further connects a movable link to the handle. The shaft also passes through a fixed gear which is secured to the escutcheon. The fixed gear includes an arcuate gear. The movable link includes a proximal end pivotally connected to the shaft in a distal end pivotally connected to a drive gear link. The drive gear link includes a distal end pivotally connected to a movable link and a proximate end including an arcuate gear enmeshed with the arcuate gear of the fixed gear. The distal end of the drive gear link also is pivotally connected to the connecting link at a connecting axis. This design enables the handle to undergo a relatively short range rotation ranging from about 100° to about 140° while moving the connecting axis through an arcuate path defined by an angle ranging from about 140° to about 180°. The handle and escutcheon present a relatively low profile on the inside surface of the sash.
