    • A portable structure defining an interior volume, and configured to facilitate draining rainwater. The portable structure includes a frame including a central support and a side support shorter than the central support. A roof fabric has a first edge coupled to the central support and an opposing second edge coupled to the side support. At least a portion of the roof fabric extends downward at the second edge with respect to a ground plane to define a concavity. An apron fabric is coupled to the roof fabric at a joint. The apron fabric is configured to extend toward the ground plane. A portion of the apron fabric defines a concave cavity that extends inward with respect to the volume of the portable structure. The concave cavity is in flow communication with the concavity to define a passage configured to drain rainwater from the roof fabric.

    • An insulated tent which has interior and exterior walls that are separated from each other by an atmosphere of low thermal conductivity. The atmosphere may be a partial vacuum or may include a gas with lower thermal conductivity than air. The walls may be kept separate by the pressure of the gas or by mechanical forces and the partial vacuum may be induced by means of a one-way valve which permits the escape of heated air from between the interior and exterior walls. Also disclosed are structures that reduce the effect of wind on the tent's exterior surface, including spoilers and convex windward edges, and structures that guide the flow of water on the interior and exterior surfaces of the tent.

    • The present invention provides pre-assembled wedding canopies and methods for making and installing them. The wedding canopies attach to a ceiling or overhead structure and are preferably made from textile material. A canopy may include multiple arms that extend from a central mounting point to a series of radial mounting points, and generally vertical members that drape downward from the radial mounting points. The canopies are provided in an organized, compact unit with textile sections that are secured together at a fastening site. The end of each textile section is folded or rolled into a flat, which can remain folded during installation activities to avoid the hassle of working around unwieldy lengths of fabric.

    • A gutter and downspout system that may be used with a tent, shelter, or other fabric structure. The gutter may be aligned along a rain fly edge to direct water away from the tent door or tent windows. After the rainwater is directed the proper distance to clear the tent door and/or windows, the water can fall from the rain fly to the ground or may be directed via a downspout to the ground. The gutter is formed of a flexible material that is sewn to the rain fly or to the canopy. The downspout may include, for example, a flexible ring at an upper portion connected to an elongate waterproof fabric tube. The end of the tube may be arranged and directed as wanted.
