摘要： An alignment mechanism and method for using the same are disclosed in which the alignment mechanism includes a sheet of translucent (including transparent) material with a plurality of horizontal and vertical intersecting traces positioned to form a grid. In a preferred embodiment, the sheet of translucent material is made of static cling vinyl to allow the sheet to hold itself to glass and other smooth surfaces. The sheet of material can also include centered X and Y axes to enable the user to determine the center of the sheet--thereby allowing the user to appropriately position art works relative to one another without relying on unaided perception.

摘要： A reference area usable with a rectangular form when the form is used with a computer controlled printer. The reference area having a pattern and a reference point. The pattern allowing the location of a mark printed by the printer on the pattern to be readily identified on an equivalent reference area displayed on a display monitor for the computer. The reference point is positioned so it will receive a reference mark when printed on the reference area by the printer provided the form is not misaligned in the printer. A reference mark received at the reference area provides information relative to the reference point that is a measure of the amount of vertical and horizontal misalignment of the form in the printer. This information, when placed in the computer, makes it possible for the computer to correct for any misalignment before any printing is done on the form.

摘要： A process for improving the readability of a data-recording line on a chart recording paper whereby the improvement is achieved by moving the recording line across a field largely composed of a matrix of dots. The procedure is particularly advantageous in improving the readability of thin lines achievable with pressure-responsive or thermographic paper, but it is also advantageous when common inking procedures are used. A novel chart paper consisting of a dot matrix format is also disclosed.
