摘要： A printing blanket is provided which resists gauge loss throughout its useful life when subjected to printing nip pressures. The printing blanket includes a printing surface layer and at least one fabric ply. The fabric ply is treated by impregnation with a 100% solids elastomeric urethane compound which penetrates the air spaces of individual fiber bundles in the fabric ply and fixes the individual fibers in the ply from relative movement so that that the blanket is resistant to permanent deformation. The blanket including the treated fabric ply retains at least 95% of its original gauge throughout its useful life.

摘要： The invention relates to the use of a roller or a rubber blanket with a covering made of elastomeric material with an outer surface for indirect or direct transfer of a damping solution and/or a printing agent to a print carrier of a printing press. In order to enable a virtually optimum printing result, even in the presence of changing process conditions, and to display improved back-transfer properties with unchanging properties over the service life, it is proposed that a roller/rubber blanket be used which has an outer surface that constitutes an elastomeric surface coating of the covering and contains, or completely consists of, a fluoroelastomer, particularly an elastomeric fluorinated rubber. The fluorinated rubber can, in particular, be a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene-vinylidene fluoride copolymer.

摘要： An improved printing press includes a tubular-shaped printing blanket removably disposed on a blanket cylinder rotatably supported by a frame and having an outer circumferential surface. The printing blanket is disposed in rolling engagement with a conventional printing plate disposed on a plate cylinder having an axially extending gap in which opposite ends of the printing plate are secured. The printing blanket is removed by opening a portion of the frame and axially sliding the printing blanket off of the blanket cylinder. The blanket cylinder has passages which deliver a stream of air to the outer surface of the blanket cylinder which expands the inner circumferential surface of the printing blanket so that the blanket can be axially removed or inserted onto the blanket cylinder. The printing blanket has a metal inner surface which is tensioned by the blanket cylinder to retain the printing blanket on the blanket cylinder during operation of the press. The printing blanket is at least partially formed of a compressible material.

The functional layers (3) include a covering layer (4), a woven-fabric layer (5) and a compressible layer (6). At the two ends of the rubber-blanket plate (FIG. 4a), only the ends of the covering layer (13) extend to the carrier plate (2), whereas the functional layers end before that. As a result, effective protection of the functional layers (3) is attained, and it is possible to use a relatively narrow channel (FIG. 4a) in the printing press cylinder upon which the rubber-blanket plate is mounted. Alternatively, all of the functional layers can extend to the end of the carrier plate.
