    • Machines and methods for removing screens from cable, wherein screen surrounds at least one electrical or optical conductor (22). The screen may be a braided screen (21) from a cable (19) including at least one conductor (22), screen (21), and outer insulation (20). After baring screen (21) by removing outer insulation (20), a section is deformed and/or unbraided, and then the deformed section of the screen (21) is cut off. The step of deforming and/or unbraiding is accomplished by lifting-off the screen (21) from the inner conductor (22) on at least one end of the section of the screen (21) to be removed, at least over a part of the circumference of the cable. This step additionally includes or may be followed by pressing the parts of the screen (21), that have been lifted off onto an erection surface (28) before cutting them off, whereby preferably the parts of the screen (21) that have been lifted off are bent backwards in the direction of the yet undeformed screen (21).

    • An apparatus is for cutting elastic coatings, in particular floor coatings, such as luxury vinyl tiles, and/or coatings made of textiles, cork, caoutchouc, rubber, linoleum, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and/or other plastic. The apparatus has a base with a supporting surface for supporting the coating to be cut and a blade with a cutting edge for cutting the coating. The blade is movable towards the base with the cutting edge to the fore along a guide device, which is connected to the base by way of a bracket. The apparatus is embodied in such a manner that the coating can protrude beyond the outer side of the bracket, preferably on both sides, during cutting as an extension of the cutting edge.

    • Methods and equipment for cutting products, including food products. Such equipment includes an impeller adapted to be coaxially mounted within an annular-shaped cutting head for rotation about an axis of the cutting head in a rotational direction relative to the cutting head. The impeller includes a base and ring spaced axially from each other, at least a first intermediate plate disposed between the base and the ring so as to define at least first and second tier levels within the impeller, and paddles disposed between the base and the ring and within the first and second tier levels. The first intermediate plate has an opening therein that defines a passage between the first and second tier levels. The impeller further has pockets defined by and between immediately adjacent pairs of paddles within each tier level.
