    • One of the exemplary filter systems described includes a bracket and a filter module that can be suspended from the bracket by a plurality of flexible supports. The bracket can support the filter system beneath the grate of a storm drain without the need for the filter system to be attached to the grate. The grate can be lifted out of the storm drain separately from the filter unit, which allows the filter system to be lifted without the added weight of the grate. When the grate has been lifted out of the way, a suitable fastener structure can be attached to the bracket of the filter system to make the use of mechanical lifting devices more convenient. The bracket can be manufactured to known dimensions, or it can be offered from among a set of brackets that are pre-configured for known storm drain dimensions or as a standard bracket that can be modified to fit the dimensions of a particular storm drain.

    • A fuel filter assembly 10 is provided for a fuel delivery module of a vehicle. The fuel filter assembly includes a metal housing 12 having a closed end 13 and an open end 11. A filter cartridge assembly 14 is received in the housing and includes a filter 38 having first and second ends. A first end cap 34 is coupled to the first end and a second end cap 36 is coupled to the second end. An electrically conductive plastic cover 16 closes the open end 11 of the housing. The cover includes an integral inlet connection 26 and an integral outlet connection 28. The filter assembly 10 is constructed and arranged such that fuel may enter the inlet connection, be filtered by the filter, and exit via the outlet connection. Each of the housing, filter cartridge assembly and cover defines a bore there through so as to define a pump bore 18 through the fuel filter assembly. The pump bore is constructed and arranged to receive a fuel pump of a fuel delivery module.

    • The inventive filter element (10) is suitable for installation in a fluid filter which is provided for cleaning a freeze-endangered fluid. The fluid filter has a housing (37) with a housing pot (38) and a housing cover (39). The filter element (10) is situated in the housing pot (38), with the housing cover (39) being screwed to the housing pot (38) with a seal. The filter element (10) has a first end disk (11) and a second end disk (12), a filter medium (13) being introduced between the end disk (11, 12). The end disks (11, 12) are mutually connected by a supporting element (30), the supporting element (30) preventing radial relative movements between the end disks (11, 12). In the axial direction, the supporting element (30) has snap hooks (25) which connect the first end disk (11) undetachably to the second end disk (12). Due to this connection, the second end disk (12) can be reliably removed from the housing pot (38) by pulling on the first end disk (11).

    • A pleated filter cartridge for filtering liquids including an annular filter element having a filter material which is a thin non-perforated non-woven material of flash-spun plexifilamentary high-density polyethylene fibrils, the filter material having a pressure drop of less than 4 psid at a flow rate of 10 gal/hr and a filtration efficiency of at least 98% of 1–2 micron particulates at a pressure differential of 30 psid. The filter material preferably has a mean flow pore size greater than 4 microns while its normal pore-size filtration rating is 1 micron, and preferably has a thickness of less than about 0.15 mm, most preferably less than or equal to about 0.13 mm. The filter element preferably has two layers, including a mesh layer, preferably of a low-density polyethylene. The mesh most preferably has a softening temperature range below the lower end of the softening temperature range of the high-density polyethylene filter material, and is tack-point interconnected to the filter material without having compromised the filter material.
