    • A conventional (strap) binding assembly for use with a snowboard. The binding assembly comprises a frame (120) having a base portion (122) that receives a snowboard boot. A pair of side walls (124) extend upwardly from either side of the base, and a high back portion (24) extends upwardly from the rearward end of the base. An ankle strap assembly (130) having a first ankle strap (131) attached to one side of the frame and a second ankle strap (135) attached to the other side of the frame, is provided, including a clasp (140) for adjustably securing the first ankle strap to the second ankle strap. In some embodiments the first ankle strap is attached to the frame with a biased hinge assembly (150), biasing the distal end (131b) of the strap away from the frame. In a preferred embodiment, a toe strap assembly (160), functionally similar to the ankle strap assembly is also provided, disposed forwardly of the ankle strap assembly.

    • A snowboard binding for allowing a user to use a strap-in system with the convenience of a step-in system without reducing the flexibility of a boot. The snowboard binding includes a mounting assembly that includes a base plate and a mounting plate. The mounting plate is designed to be coupled to the snowboard, the base plate is rotatably mounted to the mounting plate. A heel member is coupled to the base plate and is designed for securing a heel of the foot of the user to the mounting assembly. A toe member is hingably coupled to the base plate, the toe member is designed for securing toes of the foot of the user to the mounting assembly. The toe member is slidably coupled to the heel member. The toe member has an ankle strap and an ankle buckle. The ankle strap and the ankle buckle is pivotally coupled proximal a first end of the toe member. The ankle strap is adjustably insertable into the ankle buckle, the ankle strap is designed to be extended around an ankle of the user. The toe member has a toe strap and a toe buckle. The toe strap and the toe buckle is pivotally coupled proximal to a second of the toe member. The toe strap is adjustably insertable into the toe buckle, the toe strap is designed to be extended over the toes of the user.

    • A soft boot snowboard binding system having tool-less adjustments to permit a custom fit for maximum comfort and control. The adjustments, once made, are secure against unwanted release caused by environmental elements or hard use. A quick-release lever and buckle provide fast in and out action upon easy manual operation of the buckle, but resists all unwanted releases or jamming from snow build-up. A tool-less forward lean adjuster carries a concealed philips screwdriver bit which inserts into the adjuster plate to provide a screwdriver to tighten mounting screws or other fasteners on the snowboard binding, as needed.

    • A step-in snowboard binding 100 provides a base assembly 200 which is adjustably attached to the snowboard at an angle that is selected by the user. A front assembly 300 and a back assembly 400 are pivotally carried by the base assembly and are pivotally connected to each other. The front and back assemblies pivot between a closed and locked boot-restraining position, and an open step-in/out position. In a preferred embodiment, the front assembly carries an adjustable toe strap 350 and an adjustable foot strap 360. A fastening assembly 500 releasably locks the front and back assemblies together in the closed boot-restraining position. With both boots locked in the boot restraining position, the user is able to operate the snowboard. The fastening assembly is easily released, allowing the front and back assemblies to pivot to the step-in/out position. In this position, the user is able to step into or out of each binding.
