[Class 132 (ii)] In a golf putting practising appliance balls are projected from a point 6 up an inclined surface 4 of convex cross-section so that the balls must travel along the crest 3 of the playing surface to enter a hole 5. The playing surface formed of plywood, sheet-metal, &c., covered with baize, felt, rubber, &c., is mounted in a casing 1, flanged at 24 to form gulleys along which non-scoring balls are returned to drop through holes. 8 leading to a tray 9a. Balls passing through the hole 5 partially guarded by an obstacle 22 actuate a counter while passing through a shoot 12 leading to the tray 9a. The counter comprises a wheel 16 urged to rotate by a clock spring but normally locked by a spring arm 14 on a pivotal lever 13. Balls passing through shoot 12 drop on and depress the end of lever 13 which is so balanced or spring-biassed as to allow only one locking pin 15 on the wheel 16 to escape past the spring 14 at a time. Scoring indications on the wheel 16 are viewed through an aperture 11 and the wheel 16 is zeroized by backward rotation, during which the pins 15 slip idly past the spring 14. The tray 9a may be coinfreed and interchanged with a tray 9 supported on the playing platform. Platforms 21 on which the players stand'may be provided on both sides of the playing surface.
