摘要： An ostomy equipment is described which comprises in combination a flat bandage to be adhesively affixed to the wearer's abdomen around an intestinal opening, an ostomy bag and two-part ring coupling to releasably attach the bag to the bandage. The two annular members of the ring coupling have co-operating annular profile components to ensure tightening, and co-operating annular projections with annular engaging faces substantially parallel with the bandage to counteract unintentional release. The connection between the bag and its annular coupling member is situated in its entirety radially within the co-operating engaging faces of the annular coupling members; this is a safeguard against leakage in case of a one-sided pull in the bag. The annular coupling member of the ring coupling is adapted to co-operate with an ostomy rod adapted to be placed under a bowel loop in case of transversal loop ostomy. For this purpose the ostomy rod has bevelled end faces to form oblique faces converging towards the under side of the rod, the oblique faces cooperating with a radially inwardly situated frusto-conical surface on the annular coupling member connected to the bandage. This enables positioning and change of the bandage without removing the ostomy rod from under the bowel loop.

摘要： An ostomy device for releasably connecting an ostomy bag to an adhesive backed label including a mounting member for connecting one of two coupling parts to the label. The mounting member comprises an expandable portion for facilitating displacement of the connected coupling part between a normal position and an expanded position. The expanded portion comprises a pair of accordion-like folds including an inner fold and a smaller outer fold. The connected coupling part comprises a rib portion having a deflectible sealing strip extending therefrom. The rib portion is connected to the mounting member adjacent the outer folds such that the sealing strip is positioned intermediate the inner and outer folds when the coupling part is in the normal position. The inner fold guides discharge from the stoma into the bag and away from the interengaged coupling parts. In an alternate embodiment, the mounting member is affixed to the label. A preferred method of mounting the plastic coupling ring to the thin plastic surface of the label includes heat welding the polyethylene mounting member to the polyethylene annular ring. The ring is affixed to the label using a hot melt adhesive. Before affixing the ring to the label a maximized stoma aperture is formed through the ring and mounting member leaving a relatively narrow inner edge sealing region.
