摘要： Articles comprising, in order: a first adherend, a first primer layer, an adhesive layer, and a second adherend are provided, where the adhesive layer comprises pressure sensitive adhesive domains and structural adhesive domains. Typically, the first primer layer covers first portions of the first adherend adjacent to structural adhesive domains and does not cover second portions of the first adherend adjacent to pressure sensitive adhesive domains. Methods of making such articles are provided, which comprise applying a cure-initiating primer to first portions of the first adherend to form a first primer layer while leaving second portions of the first adherend bare of the first primer layer, and thereafter applying a curable adhesive film over the first primer layer, such that portions of the curable adhesive film are cured to form structural adhesive domains and other portions remain uncured pressure sensitive adhesive domains.

摘要： A method of making a coated abrasive article includes disposing a precursor make layer on a major surface of the backing, optionally partially curing the precursor make layer to provide a partially cured precursor make layer, disposing abrasive particles; partially embedding abrasive particles in the optionally partially cured precursor make layer; and further curing the optionally partially cured precursor make layer to form a make layer. The precursor make layer comprises components comprising: a) 50 to 97.99 percent by weight of phenol-formaldehyde resin; b) 1 to 49 percent by weight of resorcinol-formaldehyde resin; c) 1 to 49 percent by weight of at least one compound having at least one free-radically polymerizable group; and d) 0.01 to 1 percent by weight of a free-radical initiator. A size layer and/or supersize layer may be disposed over the make layer and abrasive articles. Coated abrasive articles made by the method are also disclosed.

The abrasive wheel has an outer circumference and an inner circumference. The abrasive article has an inner circumference and an outer circumference. The method also includes abrading a worksurface by contacting the abrasive wheel to the worksurface. The reusable hub includes a coupling feature configured to directly couple to the abrasive article. The coupling feature includes an adhesive-free connection between the reusable hub and the abrasive wheel. The direct connection is a removable interlocking between the abrasive wheel and the reusable hub.
