The optical device satisfies for each wavelength band, a relationship of ‘P>L’, where ‘L’ represents a central diffraction wavelength in the first and second volume hologram gratings, defined for a parallel light beam corresponding to a central view angle, and ‘P’ represents a peak wavelength of the parallel light beams.

摘要： An image display apparatus includes an image forming device, a collimating optical system, and an optical device. The optical device includes a light guide plate, a first deflecting member that deflects light incident on the light guide plate, and a second deflecting member that deflects the light, which propagates in the light guide plate by total reflection, a plurality of times. The first and second deflecting members are provided in the light guide plate. Light having one wavelength emitted from at least one pixel satisfies the following condition: 2t·sin θ−2≦WY≦2t·sin θ+2 where an axial direction of the light guide plate is the Y-direction, WY prepresents the width in the Y-direction of the light incident on the light guide plate, t represents the thickness of the light guide plate, and θ represents the total reflection angle.

摘要： An optical device including an optical waveguide upon which a group of parallel light beams different in traveling direction from each other are incident and from which the group of parallel light beams go out after propagated by repeated total reflection through it. The optical waveguide includes a first reflection-type volume hologram grating, and a second reflection-type volume hologram grating. The pitches of interference fringes on the hologram surfaces of the first and second reflection-type volume hologram gratings are equal to each other. In at least the second reflection-type volume hologram grating, the angle formed between the interference fringes and hologram surfaces are varied continuously or stepwise within the hologram in relation to the main incident light beam so as to meet the Bragg condition. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the unevenness of color and brightness due to angles of view.

摘要： A disc table employed in a disc recording/reproducing apparatus employing, as a recording medium, a recording disc, such as an optical disc or a magneto-optical disc, on which information signals are pre-recorded or are to be recorded, is disclosed. The disc table includes a fitting member fitted from its distal end into a circular center aperture of the recording disc, a table section which is integrated to the fitting member at a proximal side of the fitting member and on which a rim portion around the center aperture of the disc is set, a thrusting and supporting unit for thrusting and supporting the recording disc with respect to the table section, and a centering unit provided at a proximal side of the fitting member and adapted for thrusting the rim portion around the center aperture of the recording disc for aligning the center of rotation of the recording disc with the center of rotation of the fitting member. The fitting member is gradually tapered towards its distal end where the fitting member is provided with a guide slidingly contacted with the inner rim of the center aperture of the recording disc for guiding the recording disc towards the center of rotation of the fitting member. The recording disc may be positively centered to enable stable rotation of the recording disc while realizing a simplified thin type construction.
