    • A resin-coated seamless can satisfying such properties as high degree of workability, adhesiveness of film, resistance against high temperatures and wet heated condition, corrosion resistance and resistance against being dented. The resin-coated seamless can is formed of a resin-coated metal plate having substantially unoriented two layers including a lower layer on the inside of the can and a surface layer on the lower layer, wherein both of the layers comprise a polyethylene terephthalate/isophthalate having an intrinsic viscosity [&eegr;] of not smaller than 0.7, and the surface layer contains an isophthalic acid in an amount of from 3 to 13 mol %, and the lower layer contains the isophthalic acid in an amount of from 8 to 25 mol %, which is larger than that of the surface layer, and the degree of crystallization of the surface layer is larger than the degree of crystallization of the lower layer in the upper part of the can wall.

    • A connector for memory cards includes a connector body having side walls on both sides and a rear wall. The side walls are formed over their length with card receiving portions to meet shapes of side edges and the number of the memory cards to be used. The connector further includes card identification terminals made of a springy metal strip arranged in a plurality of steps in inner surface of one of the side walls, identification tabs arranged spaced from the card identification terminal prior to insertion of a card, for identifying an existence of an inserted card with the aid of the contact between the inserted card and the card identification terminal, and terminals suitably arranged on the rear wall for writing electronic information into cards and reading stored information from cards. Each of the card identification terminals includes a contact portion to contact the card, a fixing portion to be fixed to the connector body, and a connection portion to be connected to a board and further includes an engaging portion on an extension of the contact portion, which engaging portion engages an anchoring portion of each of insertion grooves formed in the connector body.

    • A remote control system comprises an audio apparatus audio signal, a video apparatus, a remote input device, a selector, and an output device wherein the remote input device transmits a position specification signal to the selector. The selector is connected to the audio and video apparatus and receives the position specification signal from the remote input device. The memory portion stores picture data include mode setting data for setting operation modes of the audio and video apparatus, command codes associated with the operation modes, and selection picture data for selecting the audio apparatus or Video apparatus. When the control portion detects that the position specification signal input by the remote input device indicates a predetermined position, it reads picture data in accordance with the input position specification signal from the memory portion. The command generation portion then selectively supplies a command code to the audio apparatus or video apparatus in accordance with the input position specification signal. The output device has a display portion to which the picture data read by the control portion from the memory portion are supplied, and the output signal of either the audio apparatus or video apparatus selected by the selector is supplied to the output device. When the control portion of the selector detects that the position specification signal input by the remote input device is a signal indicating the position corresponding to any one of the four sides of the display portion with the picture data of either the audio apparatus or video apparatus displayed on the display device, either the picture data associated with the other apparatus or the selection picture data are read from the memory portion and are displayed on said display portion.

    • A thin-film magnetic head is disclosed wherein a first core portion includes an insulative island of inorganic material. A first coil section is formed in the island so that it presents a flat common surface with the island and substrate. A gap-forming insulating layer is on the first coil section and the first core portion. A second core portion is on the gap-forming layer, forming a magnetic circuit with the first core portion. A second coil section is connected to the first coil section to form a coil therewith. In a modification, the head comprises a nonmagnetic substrate in which a coil section is formed to present a flat common surface. Metallic ferromagnetic material is used to form core portions on the coil section.
