Hues of light transmitted to a pixel portion from a light supply portion are different between two sequential field periods. Further, in a plurality of field periods in one frame period, hues of light transmitted to the pixel portion from the light supply portion are different among a plurality of field periods in which image signals are input to the pixels in the odd-numbered rows, and/or those are different among a plurality of field periods in which image signals are input to the pixels in the even-numbered rows.

摘要： There is disclosed a contact structure for electrically connecting conducting lines formed on a first substrate of an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal display with conducting lines formed on a second substrate via conducting spacers while assuring a uniform cell gap among different cells if the interlayer dielectric film thickness is nonuniform across the cell or among different cells. A first conducting film and a dielectric film are deposited on the first substrate. Openings are formed in the dielectric film. A second conducting film covers the dielectric film left and the openings. The conducting spacers electrically connect the second conducting film over the first substrate with a third conducting film on the second substrate. The cell gap depends only on the size of the spacers, which maintain the cell gap.

The display device includes a light source device in which a plurality of light-emitting elements are arranged, a diffusion plate which is bonded to the light source device, a first polarizing plate which is bonded to the diffusion plate, a liquid crystal panel which is bonded to the first polarizing plate, and a second polarizing plate which is bonded to the liquid crystal panel. The light source device includes an organic resin having a projected spherical surface and a light-transmitting property covering each of the plurality of light-emitting elements and an organic resin having a planarized surface and a light-transmitting property covering the plurality of light-emitting elements and the organic resin having a projected spherical surface and a light-transmitting property.

The techniques include forming a conductive light-transmitting oxide layer comprising a conductive light-transmitting oxide material and silicon oxide, forming a barrier layer in which density of the silicon oxide is higher than that in the conductive light-transmitting oxide layer over the conductive light-transmitting oxide layer, forming an anode having the conductive light-transmitting oxide layer and the barrier layer, heating the anode under a vacuum atmosphere, forming an electroluminescent layer over the heated anode, and forming a cathode over the electroluminescent layer. According to the techniques, the barrier layer is formed between the electroluminescent layer and the conductive light-transmitting oxide layer.

This can prevent short circuit between the first conductive film 102 and the second conductive film 104. The capacitor is used as a storage capacitor provided in a pixel of a semiconductor device.

摘要： In an active matrix semiconductor display device in which pixel TFTs and driver circuit TFT are formed on the same substrate in an integral manner, the cell gap is controlled by gap retaining members that are disposed between a pixel area and driver circuit areas. This makes it possible to provide a uniform cell thickness profile over the entire semiconductor display device. Further, since conventional grainy spacers are not used, stress is not imposed on the driver circuit TFTs when a TFT substrate and an opposed substrate are bonded together. This prevents the driver circuit TFTs from being damaged.
