摘要： A charge-injected internal combustion engine exhibits improved starting performance with charge-injection timing control. A charge-injected internal combustion engine has an air-fuel injection valve for directly injecting a compressed air-fuel mixture into a combustion chamber. The engine is also provided with an air pump, driven by the crankshaft for discharging compressed air, and a timing controller for setting injection timing of the air-fuel injection valve. When initial startup of the engine is detected, the controller sets the injection timing to the intake stroke. When the engine reaches a predetermined engine speed, or when the pressure of the injection air reaches a threshold pressure where injection of the air-fuel mixture is possible on the compression stroke, the timing controller switches the injection timing from the intake stroke to the compression stroke.

摘要： In SDH-based transmission systems with redundancy, in the event of failure in the service transmission lines, before the service traffic communication path set in the service transmission lines is switched to the protection transmission lines, if there is a communication path for sub traffic set in the protection transmission lines, the AU-AIS signal is inserted at the exit to lower-tier terminals to terminate the sub traffic communication path. Unless there is a communication path set for sub traffic in the protection transmission lines, the UNEQ signal is inserted at the exit to lower-tier terminals which are substantially connected to the protection transmission lines to terminate the sub traffic communication path. Later, the service traffic communication path is switched to the protection transmission lines. Then a misconnect during redundancy lines switching is prevented and the possibility of leak of the service traffic transmission information is eliminated.

摘要： In an engine for a motor vehicle, an upward offset of a transmission input shaft is sufficiently increased without being obstructed by a cylinder block. This shortens the overall length of the engine in the longitudinal direction of the motorcycle. The engine for a motor vehicle has a cylinder block extending upwardly and forwardly of the motor vehicle from an upper portion of the front end of a crankcase. A transmission input shaft is offset upwardly with respect to a plane, which includes the axes of a crankshaft and a transmission output shaft. The cylinder block is disposed to have an axis passing forwardly of the axis of the crankshaft. With this construction, it is possible to sufficiently increase an upward offset of the transmission input shaft without being obstructed by the cylinder block.

摘要： To improve the reliability of matrix switches of redundant configuration, a splitter (14) splits each of a plurality of input lights into two portions and applies them to corresponding input ports of matrix switches (10a and 10b). The working matrix switch (10a) connects between desired input and output ports and an optical shutter (30a) connecting to an output port (#1) is in a light transmission state. The matrix switch (10b) connects all its input ports (#1 through #8) to an output port (#1). An optical shutter (30b) connecting to an output port (#1) is in a light blocking state. A combiner (26) combines the lights which are output from the output ports (#1) of the matrix switches (10a and 10b) and transmitted through the optical shutters (30a and 30b) and also combines the output lights from the corresponding output ports (#2 through #8) of the matrix switches (10a and 10b).

The average particle diameter of the zirconium oxide powder is less than 2.0 .mu.m. The green sheet of zirconium oxide has a thickness of 50 to 300 .mu.m. The heater base is made of a green sheet of aluminum oxide consisting of aluminum oxide powder having an average particle diameter of less than 1.0 .mu.m and 0 to 10 parts by weight of zirconium oxide or yttria-stabilized zirconium oxide. The green sheet of aluminum oxide is at least 4 times the thickness of the green sheet of zirconium oxide. To complete the oxygen sensor, these four components are sintered together at 1300.degree. to 1600.degree. C. to be integrated.
