    • A wireless communication system is provided that includes a first wireless communication device, a second wireless communication device, and a base station that relays wireless communication between the first and second wireless communication devices. The first wireless communication device is capable of direct communication with another wireless communication device, and transmits a first data frame of a particular frame type to the second wireless communication device via the base station. If the second wireless communication device is capable of the direct communication, when receiving the first data frame of the particular frame type, the second wireless communication device transmits a second data frame of the particular frame type via the base station. When the first wireless communication device receives the second data frame from the second wireless communication device, it determines that the second wireless communication device is capable of the direct communication.

    • A wireless communication system is provided that includes a first wireless communication device, a second wireless communication device, and a base station. The first and second wireless communication devices perform one of indirect communication via the base station and direct communication not passing via the base station. The first wireless communication device obtains the type of communication function with which the second wireless communication device is compatible, and transmits a data frame using at least one of the communication functions with which both the first and second wireless communication devices are compatible. The second wireless communication device measures communication quality of the data frame transmitted from the first wireless communication device for each communication function used. One of the first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device, based on the communication quality, determines whether to perform one of the indirect communication and the direct communication.

    • The present invention relates to an idea in which, for example, an operation for limiting a function of a communication terminal apparatus such as a mobile telephone terminal or the like functions preferably by using a wireless communication. Also, the wireless key apparatus is provided with second communication means for carrying out a wireless communication with the communication terminal apparatus by the predetermined wireless communication system, first warning means for carrying out a predetermined warning operation, and second control means for controlling the warning means so as to carry out a warning operation in a case when the mode of the second communication means is setting-changed from the second communication mode to the first communication mode.
