    • A method for puncturing a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC). The method includes a) setting a codeword length and the total number of bit nodes to be punctured; b) selecting a check node (or check nodes) with highest priority excluding check nodes completely checked in a current round; c) selecting a bit node (or bit nodes) with a highest priority excluding bit nodes completely checked among bit nodes connected to the selected check node (or check nodes); d) determining whether the selected bit node is a bit node to be punctured, that is, it is not systematic, not set by a puncturing prohibition flag; e) puncturing an associated bit node if the selected bit node is the bit node to be punctured, setting unpunctured bit nodes connected to the selected check node by a puncturing prohibition flag, decreasing the number of remained bit nodes to be punctured by 1 and increasing the number of connected punctured node of associated check node by 1; f) determining whether the number of remaining bits to be punctured is greater than 0; and g) returning to step b) if the number of remaining bits to be punctured is greater than 0, and ending a puncturing process if the number of remaining bits to be punctured is not greater than 0.

    • A mobile communication system includes at least three transmission antennas of first to third transmission antennas, and uses an overlapped antenna scheme for grouping the first and second transmission antennas into a first transmission antenna group and grouping the second and third transmission antennas into a second transmission antenna group. First and second modulators modulate L information bit streams to be transmitted through the first transmission antenna group and output first and second modulation symbol streams. Third and fourth modulators modulate L other information bit streams to be transmitted through the second transmission antenna group and output third and fourth symbol streams. First to fourth puncturers puncture at least one modulation symbol in a predetermined position among the first to fourth modulation symbol streams. A multiplexer transmits a modulation symbol stream output from the first puncturer through the first transmission antenna, transmits modulation symbol streams output from the second and third puncturers through the second transmission antenna after summation, and transmits a modulation symbol stream output from the third puncturer through the third transmission antenna.

    • A method and apparatus for transmitting common control information by a base station in a wireless communication system are provided. The base station determines whether a first system and a second system different from the first system coexist in a wireless communication system. When the wireless communication system is a coexistence system, the base station indicates information for coexistence of the first system and the second system, position and size information of a resource allocation zone where common control information for the second system can be transmitted, and information necessary for decoding of the resource allocation zone, through a first information element in a downlink subframe where resources are occupied for the first system. The base station transmits the common control information of the second system in the resource allocation zone where the common control information can be transmitted.
