    • Improved techniques that facilitate the use of podcasts are disclosed. The improved techniques can pertain to publishing, hosting, accessing, subscribing, managing, organizing, searching, browsing, transferring, and/or playing podcasts. According to one aspect, tags are embedded into syndication feeds (e.g., RSS feeds) that may be made available for distribution by an online media store to facilitate the management of podcasts. Such tags can include a block tag that may be embedded into a syndication feed to indicate whether the feed is to be blocked from being included in the online media store. According to another aspect, management of podcasts may be facilitated by other mechanisms. In accordance with one embodiment, a user may challenge the ownership of a podcast to block or remove a podcast from the online media store. In accordance with another embodiment, images may be stored to allow efficient retrieval of the corresponding episode(s) of a podcast.

    • Improved techniques for rendering a peripheral device removable (e.g., unpluggable) are disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, the peripheral device is rendered removable from a host computer without preparatory user actions. In effect, the peripheral device can be automatically prepared for removal in the event that its user removes (unplugs) it from its host computer. According to another aspect of the invention, the peripheral device includes a data storage device that is mounted to a file system of the host computer when the host computer desires access to the data storage device. Otherwise, the data storage device is normally unmounted so that if the peripheral device were to be removed (e.g., unplugged) no harm or damage to data stored therein would occur. These aspects of the invention can be utilized alone or in combination with one another. The invention is particularly well suited for peripheral devices that are media players which are “hot” unpluggable without detrimental consequences.

    • A computer monitor hood comprises top, left side and right side shading panels each having an outwardly facing surface, a monitor facing surface, front, rear, left and right side edges. A counterweight receiving portion is disposed on the computer monitor and has a first slip-resistant surface. A counterweight having a second slip-resistant surface is selectively manually placeable in any one of a plurality of front-to-rear positions on the counterweight receiving portion, with the first and second slip-resistant surfaces being in cooperating engagement one with the other so as to retain the counterweight in any selected position, thereby balancing the computer monitor hood at a selected position on the computer monitor such that the top, left side, and right side shading panels each project forwardly from the front of the computer monitor, at the respective of the top, left side, and right side surfaces of the computer monitor, so as to shade the screen of the computer monitor. In another embodiment, the top shading panel includes a substantially rigid external layer, and a compliant layer of easily displaceable material disposed on the top shading panel opposite the outwardly facing surface, which compliant layer conforms to the shape of the contacted portion of the monitor, thereby receiving the monitor in seated relation, thus keeping the monitor hood in place. In yet another embodiment, a elastic member or a spring member biases the left and right shading panels into frictional contact with said left and right side surfaces of the monitor.

    • A method for minimizing the clogging of a cooling zone heat exchanger of a reflow solder apparatus that includes the steps of: removing a gas/flux mixture from an exhaust zone (20) that is located adjacent a heated zone and/or a cooling zone; conducting the gas/flux mixture to and through a first filter chamber (22), conducting the filtered gas from the filter chamber (22) through a low pressure portion of a blower housing of a cooling zone (16), then subsequently to and through a high pressure portion (44) of the cooling zone that includes a collection tray (38), a mesh filter (48), a heat exchanger (46) and at least one perforated plate (50). The heat exchanger is thermostatically controlled at a preset tempering temperature that minimizes the collection of flux on its exterior surfaces while allowing a solder joint of an article to solidify.
