    • A lock-equipped connector capable of preventing plastic deformation of a spring section of a locking member even when the connector is made compact in size. The locking member has a pair of arms extending in a fitting/removing direction of the connector, a connecting portion that connects the arms, a spring section, and engaging nails formed on the arms. The spring section has a first spring portion extending from the connecting portion in the fitting/removing direction, a second and a third spring portions extending from an end of the first spring portion opposite from the connecting portion side in a manner folded back toward one side and the other side of the connecting portion, respectively. A first and second fixing portions are connected to the second and third spring portions, respectively, and are fixed to the housing.

    • In a socket connector for connecting a first connection object to a second connection object, a housing has a receiving portion for receiving the first connection object in an inserting direction and holds a conductive contact and a conductive engaging member. The contact has a spring portion for applying, to the first connection object received in the receiving portion, an urging force in a removing direction opposite to the inserting direction. The contact further has a contacting portion to be contacted with a first connecting portion of the first connection object and a terminal portion to be electrically connected to the second connection object. The engaging member has a locking portion to be brought into contact with an engaging portion of the first connection object by the use of the urging force. The locking portion is contacted with the second connecting portion.

    • A connector apparatus includes a first and a second connector connected and disconnected to each other with relative movement in a fitting direction and a separating direction, respectively. In the first connector, a lever member is coupled to a base member and a housing which are relatively movable in the fitting and separating direction. The lever member includes an axis portion rotatably supported by the base member, a first cam portion spaced from the axis portion, and a second cam portion formed at a rotating end. The housing has a first cam-operated portion cooperated with the first cam portion to rotate the lever member following the movement thereof.     • A connector for switching between the states of the connection and non-connection to a mating connector by a cam mechanism (6) movably installed in insulators (2, 3), wherein the cam mechanism comprises a first cam (6a) and a second cam (6b). The first cam is rotatable about an axis, slidable between first and second positions in a direction parallel with the axis, and energized toward the first position by an elastic member (8). The second cam is rotated in conjunction with the first cam to provide either of the connected state and non-connected state according to a rotating angle. The first cam comprises a locked part (6a2) engaged with the lock part (3b3) of the insulator in the rotating direction thereof when positioned at the first position and disengaged from the lock part when positioned at the second position.

    • A zero insertion force connector (1) uses a contact (4) having a unique shape which is described below. That is, the contact includes a stationary portion (4A) fixed to an insulator (2), a first portion (4B) having a first contact point (4B1) and being continuous with the stationary portion, a substantially U-shaped portion (4C) continuous with the first portion, a second portion (4D) having a second contact point (4D1) and being continuous with the substantially U-shaped portion, and a movable portion (4E) continuous with the second portion and engaging with an actuator (5) held by the insulator to be slidable along the insulator.     • A connector (1) comprises an insulator (2) and four rows of contacts (3). The insulator (2) has a shape of an almost rectangular parallelepiped and has two cut-off like shaped edges (2B) and a groove (2C). The cut-off like shaped edges (2B) are provided on a lower side in an X-direction and on opposite sides in a Y-direction perpendicular to the X-direction. The groove (2C) is provided on a lower surface (2F) of the insulator (2). The cut-off like shaped edges (2B) and the groove (2C) straightly extend in a Z-direction perpendicular to the X- and Y-directions. Each of the contacts (3) has a curved portion (3B) and a flat terminal end portion (3C). The curved portions (3B) and the flat terminal end portions (3C) of the contacts (3), which belong to two rows nearest the side surfaces (2E), are positioned within the cut-off like shaped edges (2B). The other curved portions (3B) and the other flat terminal end portions (3C) are positioned within the groove (2C). All of the flat terminal end portions (3C) are normally on the same level. To check this, the gauge (6) is used. During the check, the connector (1) is slid on the upper surface (6A) of the gauge while the flat terminal end portions (3C) are inserted into the respective gaps (6B2, 6C2, 6D2, 6D4) of the gauge (6). If one of the flat terminal end portions (3C) collides with side projections (6B1, 6C1, 6D1, 6D3) of the gauge (6), the connector (1) is judged as a defective one.
