    • An integrally formed clip comprises first and second engaging legs for engaging with a socket, a folded first squeezing portion for exerting an inward squeezing force, a folded second squeezing portion opposing the first squeezing portion for exerting an inward squeezing force and a downward pressing force, and a curved spring portion. The first squeezing portion includes an outside face upwardly extending from the first engaging leg and an inside face connected with the spring portion. The second squeezing portion connects to an opposite end of the spring portion and is L-shaped, comprising a vertical first folded section accepting an inward squeezing force and a horizontal second folded section for accepting a downward pressing force. The second engaging leg depends downward from the second operation section. Alternatively, the first squeezing portion can be identical to the second squeezing portion.

    • A retention mechanism for securely engaging a heat sink with a CPU module comprises a base plate and a guiding member. The base plate has a H-shaped main body and two pairs of mounting legs upwardly extending from corners thereof for engaging with a CPU module and a heat sink. Each mounting leg forms a resilient tip on a free end thereof and a pair of cutouts proximate the resilient tip. The guiding member forms a shaft and a pair of latching arms outwardly extending from opposite ends of the shaft. A pair of elongate engaging slots is defined in each latching arm corresponding to the mounting legs. A receiving aperture is defined in communication with each engaging slot for insertion of the tip of the corresponding mounting leg therethrough. A pair of engaging tabs is formed on opposite sides of each engaging slot for engaging with the corresponding cutouts of the mounting legs.

    • A fixing device for securing a heat sink to a CPU module includes a base plate, two elastic side plates respectively extending from two distal ends of the base plate, two curved portions formed between the base plate and the two elastic side plates for increasing elasticity of the fixing device when the two elastic side plates are expanded outward with respect to a central axis therebetween, two hooks respectively formed at free ends of the elastic side plates for securing to a backplane of the CPU module thereby sandwiching the heat sink between the fixing device and the CPU module, and two is engagement tabs respectively formed on the elastic side plates for allowance of an external tool to release the fixing device from the CPU module.

    • A quick defrosting pad comprising a pad body and a plurality of heat pipes is provided. The pad body is made from a material with excellent heat conductivity. The bottom of the pad body is provided with a plurality of projecting ribs or posts. The heat pipes are made from a material with excellent heat conductivity and which can be integrally formed with the pad body or be assembled to the pad body after it is individually formed. Each of the pipes is sealed at both ends and evacuated to form a vacuum condition therein. The inner wall of the tube is provided with a metal mesh having a siphon effect. The inner space of the pipe is injected with a suitable amount of a working fluid which is volatile. The plurality of pipes are respectively disposed in each of the projecting ribs or posts of the pad body, such being spaced one from another.
