    • A data communications system includes optic adaptors that provide an interface between multiple line card chassis and a fabric card chassis. Optic adaptors can be added to the system to allow the addition of a number of line card chassis, thereby increasing the overall bandwidth of the system. The optic adaptors can also be separated from the fabric card chassis and line card chassis and upgraded to allow an increase in the overall bandwidth of the system. For example, optic adaptors that provide optical connections between a first number of line card chassis and the fabric card chassis can be detached from both the fabric card chassis and the respective line card chassis. Optic adaptors that provide optical connections between the fabric card chassis and a second, increased number of line card chassis are then installed within the fabric card chassis thereby allowing the additional line card chassis to be connected to the fabric card chassis.

    • A method of producing a fast-melt tablet comprises the steps of forming a mixture of components, the mixture comprising at least one fast dissolving sugar alcohol, at least one disintegrant or osmotic agent, and at least one an active component, blending the mixture for a period of time, and directly compressing the blended mixture at a compression force of typically between 5 and 2O kN to form the fast-melt tablet. The process of the invention does not involve any granulation step, thereby making the process more energy efficient and cost effective. The fast dissolving sugar alcohol is selected from the group comprising: mannitol; sorbitol; erythritol; xylitol; lactose; dextrose; and sucrose, and comprises at least 50%, preferably at least 60%, and more preferably at least 70%, of the tablet (w/w). The active component is suitably provided in the form of microparticles or microcapsules having an average diameter of less than 125 microns. Also described are directly compressed fast dissolving type tablets obtainable by the process of the invention. The tablets typically are flat-faced.

    • The present invention provides a method and system for scheduling service appointments based on service reminders sent based on the estimated mileage the vehicle. The mileage of the vehicle can be estimated based on the age of the vehicle, or it can be based on the last known mileage of the vehicle and estimating the additional mileage using average vehicle mileage statistics. The mileage of the vehicle may be estimated based on actual vehicle history, and may be adjusted based on the characteristics of the vehicle, the driver, or the geographic location of the vehicle. Service reminders sent to a recipient include a link to a scheduling server. The scheduling server provides a scheduling page allowing the recipient to view and select from available service time slots at the service shop.

    • The present invention relates to systems and methods for controlled combustion of gaseous pollutants while reducing and removing deposition of unwanted reaction products from within the treatment systems. The systems employ a two-stage thermal reactor having an upper thermal reactor including at least one inlet for mixing a gaseous waste stream with oxidants and combustible fuels for thermal combustion within the upper thermal reactor. The upper thermal reactor further includes a double wall structure having an outer exterior wall and an interior porous wall that defines an interior space for holding a fluid and ejecting same, in a pulsating mode, through the interior porous wall into the upper thermal reactor to reduce deposition of the reaction products on the interior of the upper reactor chamber. The two-stage thermal reactor further includes a lower reactor chamber for flowing reaction products formed in the upper thermal reactor through a water vortex that provides a water overflow along the interior of the lower reactor chamber thereby reducing deposition of unwanted products on the interior surface of the lower reactor.

    • A method of monitoring a power distribution unit (306) may include providing a power distribution unit frame (310), where the power distribution unit frame has a 2U form factor (312), and where the power distribution unit frame is coupled to mount in an embedded computer frame (102). An alarm module (418) may be coupled to a circuit breaker connection site (214) in the power distribution unit frame. The alarm module may detect whether a circuit breaker (416) is coupled to the circuit breaker connection site via a set of auxiliary contacts (439). If the alarm module detects the circuit breaker, the alarm module monitors a set of shelf conditions. If the alarm module fails to detect the circuit breaker, the alarm module does not monitor the set of shelf conditions.
